Is It Getting Any Clearer?

A little blues rock number about being further on down the road (sounds like a good song title!)

Leon Vocal & Lyrics
I played rhythm & lead guitar & sang a little.

The Band:
RealTracks in style: 1717:Bass, Electric, TexasBluesRockStraight Ev 120
RealTracks in song: ~686:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 1718:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockStraightBrent Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 1719:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockStraightSol Ev 120
RealTracks in song: ~586:Harmonica, Background Blues Roadhouse Ev 120
RealDrums in style: RockSyncKick^01-a:ClHtSn, b:OpHtSn

Is it getting any clearer?

Remember when we hit the road
With a mattress and a flagon
Early morning, windows down
In my Daddy’s station wagon
Future coming up behind
In the rear view mirror
Tell me brother what you see
Is it getting any clearer?

Is it getting any clearer?
So much further down the road
Are the answers any nearer?
Now we’re further down the road

Monday morning, call the boss
Tell him I can’t make it
All that wine I drank last night
Didn’t have to fake it
I could hardly raise myself
To get a glass of water
Some days weren’t no danger to
Anybody’s daughter

Is it getting any clearer?
Now we’ve daughters of our own
Are the answers any nearer?
Now we’re further down the road

Thought my dreams were up in smoke
When she said goodbye love
But happiness was up ahead
When I gave you my love
The future changes every time
That we choose a turning
I take the corners slow these days
There’s some things that I’m learning

Is it getting any clearer?
So much further down the road
Are the answers any nearer?
Now we’re further down the road

Crank the music, hit the road
With a mattress and a flagon
Toss the surfboards in the back
Of that old station wagon
Future coming up behind
In the rear view mirror
Tell me brother what you see
Is it getting any clearer?

Is it getting any clearer?
So much further down the road
Are the answers any nearer?
Now we’re further down the road

Peter/Leon,

This is super!

An EXCELLENT write. Solid start to finish. Terrific lines all over the place.

"Monday morning, call the boss
Tell him I can’t make it
All that wine I drank last night
Didn’t have to fake it
I could hardly raise myself
To get a glass of water
Some days weren’t no danger to
Anybody’s daughter"

...for example.

Nice blues/rock production. The guitars are stellar. The lead at the end is exceptional - the "little bit of shred" is the best ever displayed here... (It needed to be louder, for sure!)

Super.

What a tune! I love the attitude this tune has, and the groove is infectious. The harmonica was implemented perfectly here as well. The bluesy approach to this was perfect. And to boot, really nice lyrics too.

A very well rounded song - you should be proud of this one! Thanks for sharing smile

That "little blues rock number" could have gone on...and on...could've heard that outro for several minutes smile

Great playing and, man, what an all around cool song. Leon has carved out a niche as a most literate blues writer...and does it ever work.

We like the Biab band, the write, the vocals, and that guitar!

And you topped it off with a "everything's in the pocket" mix.

Nice!

Peter & Leon,
A road trip with humour and wisdom in the lyrics ( which Leon does so well) and a nice touch of raunch in the backing... yeah, that ending guitar could have gone on and on!
Very good.

Rock blues at its best. Great vocal and outstanding lead guitar. I am very impressed with this one.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Great groove, very infectious! Leon always writes a good lyric and vocals sound good too.

Love the smoking guitar on the outro! My only complaint is it could have been longer.

Good one Peter and Leon!

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
