This is one I put together about a month ago. A Surf-Rock ballad. It was a quick project - between lunch and dinner (this is one of two I did in that time frame). Think of Annette and Frankie (you older folks know who they are!) walking along the beach about 1960, hand-in-hand, just at sunset, as this is playing in the background. The lead guitar (RT track - not me) is minimal but, I think, meets the needs of the song. Completely done in BIAB and Audacity - I try to keep it simple! Thanks in advance.

I tried to find a use for the Spaghetti Western Baritone Background Guitar (fx) not in a minor key. You might have noticed that RT is an "Even" feel, whereas the other RTs are a "Swing" feel. I think it sounds okay - does it work for you?

This is real good. Some vocals at 1:28 would have been a classic. Very good instrumental. Enjoyed my listen. Thanks for sharing

Hello LPman,

Thanks a bunch for the listen. The primary reason there is no vocal is it was written for an a film placement opportunity that wanted only instrumentals. I'll think about a lyric, since it wasn't selected. Again, many thanks for the listen and nice words. Much appreciated.

Alan

Alan,

A really pretty tune - all sounds just right. Nicely composed and put together.

An excellent listen, Alan.

The EV RT works fine - the spacing and tremolo help that, I think...

Very nice.

I spent a long time staring at the song art, trying to figure out if maybe the wave was from one of the green oceans, and then when I looked again I noticed the trees and all the foliage. Super cool choice! The song is absolutely beautiful! Well done.

Cheers,
Ember

Alan,
Very relaxing, with the moody emotion that baritone guitar brings
suggesting images of Western movies.
You are an ace at the quick, well executed instrumental.

The ev guitar sounds good. On a few occasions I've also mixed them with no issues.

Beyond all that we much like the song. It really does establish a nice cinematic feel. Hopefully you'll have more opportunities to submit it.

We enjoyed it!

Thanks very much, Floyd. I appreciate the feedback. It was pretty quick project: 2 - 3 hours. Best to you,

Alan

Thank you, Ember! I narrowed it down to three choices on the art, from many, and went with this one because it was bit different. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you very much! I've been playing around with the various baritone guitar tracks and thought this might be a good way to use one of them. Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm not sure I'm a master of anything - except making my wife give me the "you're dead meat" look! best t you.

Hey Guys - or should I say guy and lady?

Thanks much for the very nice comments. You probably saw the opportunity for which I created this and another song. You never know what might get selected or rejected. Some of the accepted entries are spot on and terrific - some of the others sound nothing like what they requested. I guess it's a crap shoot - I'll keep rolling the dice when I can! Thanks again.

Alan

Hello, Alan

It's a challenge for you to a new genre.
The rhythm of the 12/8 and the Ev lead guitar are blending really harmoniously.
It is very comfortable.
It seems that I am watching an Italian movie which music is written by Ennio Morricone.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Cool retro feel Al!! I love that spaghetti western guitar thing. You've been hitting the instrumentals a lot....and doing a fine job of it! Enjoyed! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
