This should be part two of a longer video showing how to install BIAB, then move the Real Tracks and Drums to another drive first.
I can't be the only one who, when shipped the program on the hard disk, install the 21G, then move the RT & Drums to a fast SSD rather than keep them on a mechanical HHD. In the case of the Audiophile version, the HHD now serves as a backup since the uncompressed files are not available for download.
Yes, one can watch all the videos and figure this out but the instructions are not laid out in one place. Surprisingly easy to do; confusing after you read the instructions.
Step one — Run the Installer, as explained in the Option 2 video up to the 6:00 minute mark Installation Videos
Step two — Go the the USB hard drive /Applications/Band-in-a-Box and select the Real Tracks and/or Drums folder(s). Copy these to your preferred drive. The Drums folder is just under 68G while the Real Tracks folder is 1.22T so plan to have most of a 2T drive available with the Audiophile version. Once you've copied (takes 4 hours over USB 2 on my Mac), you can go to
Step three — Either restart the Option 2 Video from the 6 min mark or watch the video in the previous post.
You're done.
BIAB 2023 Audiophile, 24/60 Core M2 Mac Studio Ultra/8TB/192GB Sonoma, M1 MBAir, 2012 MBP Digital Performer 11, LogicPro Finale27.4, Dorico5, Encore5, SmartScorePro64, Notion6, Overture5
To answer the question, Why (other than the backup)?
2009 27" iMacs have 2 SATA busses including the CD drive (that is slower than an inexpensive USB external); the 2010 & 2011 have three SATA busses with one unused. The 2011 also has Thunderbolt. None of those has USB 3 (introduced on the 2012 and up).
With 2T SSDs being readily available under $300 and these being easy to upgrade*, putting two 2T SSDs inside any 2009–2010 iMac makes a lot of sense. Added benefit, you get rid of the additional HHD heat source inside what is already an oven. With the 2011, you can throw a pair inside or stick the other in a Thunderbolt dock.
Having the Audiophile version, I still prefer having the original hard drive from PGMusic as a backup.
If I had the Ultra Pack, it wouldn't be as important since I could download everything in the event I had a drive failure. Since everything is 120G, I'd just install it on my boot drive—but that's me and I am not you.
*Yes, Really. I can install a pair of SSDs into any of these one-handed (with my disability, that's my only choice).

I copied everything form the drums folder to a new drums folder on an external drive. Then followed the instructions on the video, but I get an error message that the mv4 file is not in the same directory as the txt file?
