Ok, I always make it a habit to try and post a song on my birthday like Floyd and Tom so here it is. A totally sappy love song.

For my new year, I decided to totally sell out to the man and start writing pop--for the women. No more cryptic messages from me. I am turning over a new leaf.

https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs2/falling

https://www.reverbnation.com/davidpsnyder/song/29792825-falling

No mysterious or abstract lyrics here, just straight up Elvis and Paul McCartney. The piano is a real track, but I converted it to midi and ran it through the Abbey Road Grand by Garritan. Get ready for an overload of cheese y'all, but hopefully it will be good cheese.

Falling

By David Snyder

V1

Look into my eyes
I guess you’re not surprised
That I'm blown away
There’s no one else like you
So what else can I do
But say what I have to say

CH

I'm falling
Falling in love with you
I'm falling
Falling in love with you
with you

V2

Listen to my voice
You can tell I have no choice
Cause I am swept away
I see it in your smile
You know that in a while
You’ll hear what you know anyway

CH

I'm falling
Falling in love with you
I'm falling
Falling in love with you
with you

Bridge:

And I would cross a burning bridge
On my hands and knees
Just to get to you
Never looking back
What else in the world
Do you expect me to do
don't you know

CH

I'm falling
Falling in love with you
I'm falling
Falling in love with you
with you

David, you old softie!

This is just so outstandingly good on every level.

Possibly the best vocal I have ever heard from you, man, during the chorus especially! Fabulous!

Happy birthday BTW smile

Really well done! Very pretty, and very easy on the ears. Your vocal performance sounds sincere as well, and to boot that chorus is wonderfully catchy.

Happy Birthday too - thanks for sharing smile

Happy Birthday!

Yummy cheese. Simple write and arrangement, which is harder than it seems.

You're promising a year's worth of cheese? Bring it on!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Filly agree! Cheese is, indeed, yummy! Just had a roast beef and pepper-jack cheese sandwich with horseradish mustard! Still salivating. smile

This is really good, David - super good! A little cheesy sap here and there is good for us. Your vocal was splendid - that chorus sparkles. Nothing not to like here - everything is so cool it has frost hanging from it. Nice! Happy birthday!!! cool

David,

An excellent "simple love song".

Nice arrangement, vocal and mix. Well done.

Happy Birthday, dude!

PS... you said you "converted" the RealTrack of the piano. There is a MIDI SuperTrack for this piano. If you aren't using those, Man!, you need to be grabbing them. No "conversion" required - they are already MIDI - use whatever piano/instrument you chose....

Now that is good and commercial/ catchy some say "simple".

That is clever writing as you already know.

Look at songs like tiger feet from a band called mud.

In all honesty what songs do you remember.

Happy birth day buddy what age are you anyway ?.

David,
Wow,I enjoyed this very much- your inner Harry Nilsson should be unleashed more often!
Sweet vocal that soars in the right places.
A tender ballad - not at all mushy.

First, Happy Birthday (Belated)! I hope you had a great one. You happen to share a birthday with my daughter. So, it's a special day for me as well.

Second, I'm from Wisconsin and loves me some cheese. That's was wonderful!

Seriously, I have NO idea what you did, but everything is produced so well. It's so clear with the perfect effects, and amount of those effects on everything.

REALLY well done David! You are getting better with age. smile

David,

This was wonderful. Your writing, your presentation, your arrangement and production hypnotised me from start to end. I was captured by the mood that you created so very well.

You have a flair for this style of ballad.

All the best,
Noel

This is as cheesy as good old New York State Extra Sharp Cheddar! I love both!

David, you should do more pop. This is as good as or better than I lot of today's radio pop.

PS - I really liked this.

Hi David,

Quite simply excellent.

It's simplicity is it's strength.

A song that you find yourself singing long after it's finished.

I actually have a dairy-products allergy, but it didn't stop me from
loving every bar of this track.

Hey, that high note on "falling" is beautifully sung - we don't hear the lads
up as high as that very often.

Great stuff.

ROG.

@ Clifton.... smile

Dear John Lennon,

Too bad we are not writing any more songs together. Well, I guess in about 50 years everybody will still be whistling Penny Lane, Lady Madonna, Let It Be, Hey Jude and all of my other songs, but I doubt anyone will be whistling A Day in the Life or Strawberry Fields. Just sayin' dude.

Anyway, you would have thought the world would have had enough of silly love songs.

But I look around me and I see it isn't so.

Oh no.

So here we go. Again.

By the way, I am sleeping just fine. Because I am still cranking out the hits and you aren't.

Sincerely,

Paul

What will this do to your reputation? No angle? No humor? Nothing outrageous? In all seriousness, I think it is quite beautiful!! Really pretty music and a message which is simple but seems heartfelt. Something like McCartney might do. Very nice!! Take care. Greg

I don't know what this will do to me! People are asking for more cheese!

I am thinking of starting a new record label called The Cheese Factory.

There is a lot more cheese where that came from!!
