When I try to open a song that I have rendered to mp3, I get a box headed Noname.SGU followed by "song file has been changed. Save before closing?" Should I only open rendered songs on the C drive of my laptop and not on BIAB?

According to what selection is set in Preferences, when you first start BIAB, it opens in a predetermined previous song or previous style or if no song or style has been chosen in Preferences, it opens as a default noname song and default style. When you attempt to import or open the rendered mp3, the box headed Nomame.sgu followed by "song file has been changed. Save before closing?" is an alert that changes have been made to the default song project so you can save the project and not lose any changes. So, if you have opened BIAB and are not working on a project, select No and BIAB will reset to 'New' state and import the audio file.

Hi Charlie,
I'm still having the same problem. I open BIAB click on open then click on the rendered version of the song - the box appears asking about saving changes and I click on No but I then get a blank screen. It doesn't seem possible to open the rendered version.

A rendered song is an audio file. Look at the Mixer. The bottom track <Audio> should be listed and populated with the audio file. It is below the Soloist Track and mine is orange colored. You are correct that there is no chords populating the Chord Sheet. Hit <Play> and you should hear the audio track play and see the meters registering. If the Style is enabled, you will also hear the Style play but it will only play the first chord listed in the Chord Sheet.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
