Elephant

There's a white elephant in the room....

================================================
Elephant hunter lives for safari;
Tracking down mammoth hulk for his quarry;
Driven to trophy prize of an ivory tusk;
And by the dung smell can tell
How well the hunt will go.

Elephant hunter shrewd as a jaguar;
Elephant hunter knows where the stags are;
Heads for the hills and swears that the herd's not far;
And yet the big white stands here
Grazing right in our sight.

Heed the prophet's call--a great rain may fall
And overcome us all;
Great danger's near,
We're too stiff-necked to hear the rumblings, the warning;
It's clear..it stands right here!

Elephant hunter plays at safari;
Spinning his wheels in chase of his quarry;
(Giant as an elephant, 's clear to me, why can't you see?
Seems to me, while it's goin' down, you're standin' 'round)

And yet the big white stands here
Grazing right in our sight.

Heed the thunderous call--a great rain may fall
And overcome us all;
Great danger's near,
We're too stiff-necked to hear the rumblings, the warning;
It's clear..it stands right here!
==========================================
I think I started this by playing around with a JazzFunk style, and kept some of the pieces; then I added a samba style to the break.
RT's in the primary track:
1435 JazzFunkGroovin Elec Guitar
1637 JazzFunkBreezin Elec Guitar
RT's in the samba portion are typical Bossa bass/piano/guitar/drums
Elephants appear courtesy of...nevermind!

Wow - this tune was an experience! Again, very very unique and unlike what is usually on the showcase. It borders on being abstract, which I personally like. The groove is infectious, and the melodies and chord progressions are simultaneously dizzying and catchy.

Really well done! Thanks for sharing smile

Cheers,
Deryk

Great song, I have to say it puts me in a scene on movie set looking for the Elephant across the swells. Love it the bass seems to give it the vitality and then the piano in the background is so well defined with the horns. Cliff

Hello,

Certainly different than the typical fare on these forums. I'm with Deryk about the abstract design of the song. Rhythm and percussion are terrific. A pleasant surprise, for sure.

The change at 2:06 casts a whole new aura on the song - very creative!

Best to you.

Alan

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Yeah, man, every now and then you need something to shake up the forum (in a good way)!

As David said "cool sonic journey." It's hard to add to that other than to say the the vocals and the pointed lyrics were spot on.

Very effective and well done!

At first I thought that I was transported to Jumanji!

This is what a very creative mind and BiaB can come create together. This is a very well produced piece of music with a number of twist and turns.

I thought this was fantastic.

Interestingly and refreshingly different. Quite liked the repeating background theme during the verses, it kept everything quite connected.

Really cool. Just hope the hunter never got the prize...

Thanks VideoTrack..the point of the song is that the "experts" are looking in all their normal hunting grounds for the danger, but they can't see what's right in front of everyone else's noses!

Hello, Tom

Very unique song!
It seems to be a chunk of various ideas.
And the melody is your signature.
The way to use sound effects and percussions is extremely good.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
