I probably just have way too much time on my hands at the moment, but has anyone else noticed that the RealTracks Acoustic Guitar fails to change chords sometimes when there are even just two chords in a 4/4 measure (like in measures 22 (E7 Amin) and measure 24 (Dm7 G7) in the demo BGPNKDEMO.mgu) where it just continues strumming the first chord? And also that it fails to recognize slash chords with different root notes, like in measures 9 & 11, when the C major chord walks down with lower roots on each beat of the measure? While this last adaption to playing fast changing chords is less distracting than the former, is there a way to at least identify these limitations and possibly others to users before discovering them in a clashing of chords and melody in a performance? Please, don't get the wrong idea here, though. I remain dazed and devoted to what BIAB is able to accomplish. It is an amazing product.

Dr DuBose, The issues above are fixed in the 2008.5 upgrade.
There is a free upgrade, and also an upgrade to the RealTracks set 1.
Separately, there are 44 new RealTracks for Band-in-a-Box

==================================================
If you have Band-in-a-Box 2008 for Windows already, you can either;

1. Get the free upgrade to 2008.5 from the support page http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windowsupdates.htm#259
This has the upgrade with 30 new features, but not the new RealTracks.
- or -
2. "PLUS PAK with 2008->2008.5 upgrade and all 44 new RealTracks for $59" ....Get the upgrade and the 44 new Real Tracks Instruments (RealSets 2-9) for $59 here
Go this page http://www.pgmusic.com/bandbox.htm and then click on the button called "$59 PLUS Pak" that is at the far right of the screen, middle way down the page.
(Note: the PlusPak requires version 2008 or higher)

Have Fun!

Thank you very much! The updated acoustic strumming guitars and fingerpicking guitars are marvelous improvements, with greater sensitivity to chord changes, chord types, and rhythmic nuances (pushes). As you and co. continue to push the envelope, I wish you continued good fortune, and hope that musical fundamentals in new instruments stay safeguarded, like trying to manage volume levels to ensure decent ensemble mixes (the acoustic guitars sound recorded at lower volumes, and I have to boost them to hear them well, and fully appreciate them,), and intonation ( I hear an electric bass that's a bit sharp, I fear.), and maybe "coloration" or timbre (the metal guitar is a bit overprocessed to my Mesa Boogie tuned ears, though the label "wild" serves as fair warning). I'd love to see a sax at lower bpm, maybe 65 for ballad soloing, and am enjoying the new ones which are just hotter than ever, and all between 100 & 140 bpm. All in all, if I can manage my limited disk space (80 gig on my laptop performing platform) with all the updates I'll be more than happy. I'll be creative, and performing more, and giving more away performing for causes and concerns in fund raisers and celebrations. Thanks again to you and your very helpful staff for helping me turn a corner on all the new updates, including help from Nancy and Andrew.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
