This is just me doodling around as it rains outside.

BiaB style = Slow Hip Hop, Tempo = 90 BPM
I kept the drums, piano, and the strings. I modified the string track to better fit the song.

I am playing the bass, guitars and via my wind controller the flute.

Let me know what you think about this little quick and dirty song.

Rainy Day Doodling

Very nice flute noodling (and guitar & bass).
A clever and interesting jazzy composition.

Great doodlin' man. First time I noticed how really gorgeous that guitar tone is.

What kinda guitar is that?

Mario,
Your doodling has a nice groove - the beat with quick stops works well and I really enjoy listening to your flute.
Play on through that rain!

Very cool doodling. We have been going through a bit of a hot spell but we are having a cool rainy day today and couldn't think of anything better than listening to your cool piece of music. Flute was excellent but your guitar was just superb. Well done

Thanx Greg. We aren't having a lot of rain and we are still a little dry. There is more rain predicted for this week. My wife hopes not as she is almost living in her swimming pool!

Thanx! I have neglected my guitar chops lately but I'm trying to get back into the groove.

Thanx Scott. We have had a very hot and dry summer thus far. This rain was the first that we have had in a long time. It has been the hottest summer on record thus far.

I can not give doodling lessons as I don't have any idea what in God's name that I'm doing! I just play to have fun. Sometimes it sounds OK and you all get to listen to it but sometimes I have to hit the Delete button!

Dear "Mario D"...

Rhythmically funky, yet wistful in mood ...minor-keyed, yet mellow...artfully atmospheric...these are the words that came to my mind as I listened to "Rainy Day Doodling".

Some of your "changes" were daring and unexpected, but also musically exciting to hear. They kept me anticipating where the song would go.

The breaks between the verses were playful and fun to anticipate. The Real Drums cymbal work added mist and shimmer to the track's sound. If you hadn't informed us of the instruments you played -- the bass, the guitars and the flute -- I would have presumed they were Real Tracks because of the relaxed feel of your improvisations.

I'd take the word "Doodling" out of your title. It makes it sound as though you were just playing around, but the song doesn't come off like that. It sounds like it was performed by a tight and talented group of musicians who conjured up the feel, the scent, and the taste of...a rainy day.

Sincerely,

bluage (a.k.a. LOREN)

Nice doodling, Mario.

Cool flute and guitar. Nice use of stops. The ending flute hits were especially nice.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
