Excellent jazzy song, could be a good one for the soundtrack of a 70's art movie smile Very nice groove with nice stops. Great sound and playing, especially the flute. Instrumentation really works, and that breathing sound (cymbal?) makes this song... breathe.

If I could noodle like that and when it rains (often here this year) I'd have several albums in the can.

Great playing and love that jazzy tone you have going.

Cool arrangement also with the stops.

Fun!!!

You sir, are very impressive at doodling! That's a cools on my book. The guitar work was really cool, and loved the flute.

I have to ask, how did you get such great stops? I get them, but usually in that many I would have one that flops. Teach me your doodling ways if you would please sir.

Great job Mario!

Hello, Mario

Nice jazzy tune!
Frequent breaks are very cool.
I also love that delicious flute groove like Greg.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Some of your "changes" were daring and unexpected, but also musically exciting to hear. They kept me anticipating where the song would go.

The breaks between the verses were playful and fun to anticipate. The Real Drums cymbal work added mist and shimmer to the track's sound. If you hadn't informed us of the instruments you played -- the bass, the guitars and the flute -- I would have presumed they were Real Tracks because of the relaxed feel of your improvisations.

I'd take the word "Doodling" out of your title. It makes it sound as though you were just playing around, but the song doesn't come off like that. It sounds like it was performed by a tight and talented group of musicians who conjured up the feel, the scent, and the taste of...a rainy day.

Sincerely,

bluage (a.k.a. LOREN)

Thanx so much Loren. The drums are not RealDrums. They are MIDI drums.

Thanx for your "If you hadn't informed us of the instruments you played -- the bass, the guitars and the flute -- I would have presumed they were Real Tracks because of the relaxed feel of your improvisations" comment. I know that I am no where as good as those RT pro players but I do have fun playing my instruments.

Thanx Janne. Yes that breathing sound was a MIDI cymbal. Thanx for noticing that.

Thanx J&B. Actually most all of my leads are me just doodling around until I find something that fits.

After you get a verse and/or chorus with the stops where you want them then copy and paste does the rest.

PS - yes I am a very lazy guy!

Wonderful job Mario - and a great usage of the hip hop style. The groove is amazing on this one, and the instrument selection is superb and unique. In particular, the flute fit in perfectly.

Great work and thanks for sharing smile

Hmmmm, I thought I listened to this previously and commented. I must have forgotten to hit submit. Well this gives me a chance to listen again. Really liked the vibe of the tune and especially the flute. Some very nice noodling indeed. Perfect for a rainy day or any other day for that matter.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
