Too late for surf (Music & Lyrics by Norman Wibe)

Down in Honolulu with my sweet little babe, ridin´on those waves
listen now, it´s easier said than done !

Hooked on a course for rookies, understandin´what it takes
to be able there to get out all the fun

”Bend, there, move here, let go all the way
stand here, take care, do just what I say”!

Tried so very hard just to learn the trade, yearnin´ for those raves
but my sense of balance had all gone !

Surely , you know it could not be no wonder in my case
in vain my instructor shouted on: !!

”Bend, there, move here, let´s go all the way
stand here, take care, do just what I say”!

Soon I realized It was´nt goin´to be
after all I might not become the surfer star I´d like to see
glidin´over roarin´sea ´at seventy, seventy !!

Hi, my friends you know they say it´s never ever too late
no matter if it was ever, ever so great
feel I´m just too old, at any rate !:))

Well done dani48! I found this very easy to listen to and great work on the guitars. Nice work on the vocals and the harmonies, they remind me of the beach boys. Great job!

Just passed 70, nope not accepting that. That song just took me back to the 70s.
And a nostalgic trip to the beach .
And that Dani is what you do well.

Thank you Sir.

As usual a great ride the surf song with his masterfully controlled vocals.

Another winner here Dani.

PS - a belated happy birthday. Only 70! I passed that 2.5 years ago.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Here goes the forum's Brian Wilson again!! As I write this comment, I'm sitting in a condo in Kauai with an ocean view watching 12-year-old kids do some amazing work on those waves. Gets harder for us older folks, but, as said above, you still got it with the surfing tunes!! Take care. Greg

Dani,

You've done it again! I don't know how one even begins to create a song that has so many vocal lines weaving throughout it. It's testament to your musical skills that you make it seem so-o-o-o-o easy.

Happy birthday!!!! I sure hope that there's more of this surf sound left in you yet! You've carved yourself quite a unique little nook on the forum smile

All the best,
Noel

Nice one Dani!

Keep 'em coming. I'm (Bud) older than you and still mountain bike...gotta keep the wheels moving.

No need to retire from surf songing when you still sound like this!!

Love it!

Hello, Dani

Here goes the forum's Brian Wilson again!
Happy birthday! Congratulation for reaching 70 years.
I think that it is wonderful that your composing ability and vocals are not waning at all.
Please keep on surfing on the waves of songwriting!
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Oh man I agree with Bud. Just jeep going! Great song, too.

Hey, have you ever been surfing in a hurricane? My buddies and I did in college and I took a two story drop onto a pile of rocks and broke my board in half.

There was ABSOLUTELY no beer involved.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
