if you are looking for a broad selection of sounds and you have a big Hard Drive. ... and time/bandwidth to download the 6.5 gig library. (It's a download only version) If you've downloaded the Ultrapak before it's not that big of a deal.

That's SampleTank SE (Special Edition), not the full version. So that's 400 out of the 4000 instruments in the full version.
Still a decent selection.

Sample Tank 3 is cool. I use it all the time. The full version is $99 now I think. Worth every penny.

I've had it for two years now. Is it the BEST softsynth out there? No but is it the best bang for the buck out there, yes. I would call it a high end synth but lets say it's the bottom of the high end. Still way better than all the cheapies around. This is my impression just using the included sound libraries I haven't bothered with the myrid optional libraries. They could be absolutely great, dunno. I got it with their buy a piece of hardware and get ST3 for free promo so it cost me $79. $99 is still a screaming deal man.
Just check out all the many YT vids that demo the sounds. Pretty good BUT it's not a GM synth, It won't simply load into a Biab or RB VST slot and automatically play your midi tracks, you have to manually select the instruments and midi channels first. But that's true of any high end VSTi.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
