Does anyone remember Ray Thigpen? Ray and I were good friends and colaberated on many songs. Ray passed away a few years ago. This is a song that he wrote and I am singing it and the music. I just ran across this a couple days ago in my computer. It is "After all these Years". occ Occ's songs
I am still sad about Ray's passing. I spoke to Ray a few times via the phone. I was on a couple of his songs. My wife and I were going to visit Ray and Paulie but he passed away before we got a chance to head south. Ray was a very good Internet friend.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I remember Ray well. We conversed via email and phone several times. Ray and I shared a love of the North Georgia Mountains (I went to college in Dahlonega, GA; my wife is from Columbus, GA; and my dad is from Ty Ty, GA - close to Tifton).
We collaborated together on one of the songs on the CD he put together (I've still got it).
He also shared with me this video he put together about the Fall in North Georgia from 2006. I've uploaded it to YouTube to share with everyone else.

Like so many others on PG music, I spoke with Ray a few times by phone. As a matter of fact, I still have an original copy of his song "After all these years". I never met him personally, but he sounded like a kind person. May he rest in peace.
Ray was a good friend of mine on the PG forum. He must have many good friends. He was a good Southern Gospel piano player. He played on several of my songs. I wish I knew how to get in touch with his wife. occ
Both Ray and Russell has helped me so much with my Biab songs, singing and overall production of my music. Ray told me the truth when my vocals were less then stellar and I appreciate him so much for that. The last video I saw of Ray he was riding in a boat somewhere in some Georgia waterway with a grin from ear to ear. He was an amazing friend online and I KNOW he loved to play and sing Southern Gospel Music. RIP Ray, you are not forgotten.
The Biab Forum has brought many of us together as an online family. I have been a member since I can remember being on the internet. Ray loved his Gospel Music and was an AMAZING Southern Gospel Pianist. Him and Russel DeMusell were two of the 1st I met on the Biab Forum.
This is a fantastic tune, you guys should be proud It's wonderful hearing of the fond memories people have. You can tell he was a cherished person and artist.
I'd like to add my comments. Ray was a mentor to me when I first started using BIAB, and was a wonderful, honest critic. He would always critique me honestly; bouquets when applicable and brickbats when needed. Never rude, but always honest.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, or even speaking to him, he was like a close friend. I loved his music, and I think he enjoyed mine, I still refer to his "Mixing & Mastering" training video whenever I need to.
A wonderful man, and sadly missed by many, many people on this forum.
