Hi everybody,
Nice to meet you all!

I am new to BiaB and I've spent most of the weekend downloading and installing the UltraPAK and all the Xtra Styles PAKs.
It however seems like I'm missing some styles. When I look in Stylepicker "Category" it says:
Everything Jazz (UltraPAK 2087 - found 2081)
Everything Country (UltraPAK 2539 - found 2525)
Everything Pop (UltraPAK 2568 - found 2543)

if I search using the filter "show only N/A styles" it comes up with the following four:
_2INSTEP (RT295)
_ARVORES (RT295)
GPSYBOB+ (XtraPAK)
OLDWEST+ (XtraPAK)

I have tried to re-install RealTracks 295 but that didn't help at all.

How do I get the styles I am missing?

Any help will be much appreciated!
Will

Did you do a rebuild after downloading the files? Have you tried the complete/slower rebuild?

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Will, I am sure W wasn’t blowing you off. I would have given the same answer. Particularly if you bought from PG Music, they can look up exactly what you have including Xtra styles or Bonus Paks, and figure this out easily. Plus, PG Music Support is excellent to work with.

Hello Will and welcome to the forums.

Sounds like we may need to take a look at your installation, just to ensure everything is where it should be.

MarioD brought up a great point about Rebuilding. The Style Picker, RealDrum Picker, and RealTrack Picker dialog have a rebuild button that will scan your file locations to ensure everything is displaying as it should.

We would be more than happy to assist you getting everything setup, please feel free to contact us whenever is convenient for you.

You can always email support@pgmusic.com, come on our Live Chat here on our website, or call us toll-free. I will link our Hours of operation and contact numbers below.

Again, Welcome to the forum!

Thank you!

I've already tried rebuilding a few times but will go through all of them again before I contact support (in order not to disturb you too much if it is all my fault).

Great program by the way!

Yes, I did try a rebuild, but I'm not sure what the "slower" rebuild is?

In the Style Picker, the Rebuild Button gives you two options. The second one is the Slower Build.
(This used to be done from the Action button, but was changed in later versions)

Will, this is how to get a full rebuild. I'm assuming BIAB 2018. If that's not what you have, please specify.

Bring up the main BIAB screen (with the chords).

Underneath the name of the song is the name of the style. To the left of the style name, see two icons. The left-hand one looks like a magnifying glass and is called Style Button. Click it.

This brings up the Style Picker window. You probably saw that, and the Rebuild button next to OK at the bottom. Click on the Rebuild button. Then you see the two options for Partial and Complete. Do the Complete.

Let us know if that worked.

EDIT: Interestingly, I just ran these instructions, and it found 11 new styles!

Hi Will,

It's OK, I'm tech support.

I did some checking, and OLDWEST+ and GPSYBOB+ aren't supposed to be included, or listed in the StylePicker (them showing up at all will be fixed with a patch).

I'll update you as soon as I have a solution for the other two styles.

Thanks
Kent

Hi Will,

Looks like 2INSTEP and ARVORES were accidentally left out of the RT295 installer. The installer's now been updated, so if you download and run just the RealTracks 294-300 installer from your account on the website, you should get them right away.

If not, please let us know!

Thanks

Will, you'll soon find out that the members on this forum don't think of requests like that wink wink

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
