I see a lot of people have been doing some lonesome cowboy anthems, and I wanted to write a heart-rending, heart-twisting, gut-wrenching, soul-bustin’, tear-jerkin’, and all-night-drinkin’ and sobbin’ Allman Brothers type song for the Xtra Styles contest. I might have one finally but there’s a back story. https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs2/tahomaAfter struggling and struggling and getting nowhere, I got down on my hands and knees and prayed to God to help me. Then, suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked. It was Gregg Allman. God let him out of heaven to come down for a session!! Thank you Jesus! Then Gregg said: “Get off that piano bench. I’m gonna show you the chords on this one. We’re playing this as slow as it goes. 40 BPM. And we’re playing it clean. Duane couldn’t make it. You’ll have to keep up.” Thank you God. Cool song David., Only thing that would make it a bit more Allman Bros. would be some tasty Dickey Betts like licks in the spaces like my favorite Allman tune, Melissa. You captured that Gregg Allman soulful vocal. Sure do miss him already. Good stuff.

Yeah thanks Dave. I struggled with whether I should have added guitar. You might be right, but I left the guitar part I had in mind out to make it more spooky. At least that was what I was thinking--but I hear ya. I went back and forth on that one.
On a side note: I got to interview Gregg once. He was a really cool guy.
No one could tear the place up like that guy. I had front row seats once and when he walked out there with his bottle and put it down on the organ he just stared at the crowd like "you have no idea what's about to hit you." And we didn't. He was absolutely in his own stratosphere when it came to male soul. No one could touch him. He just went into orbit.
Yeah, I miss him too.

David has the unusual ability to produce backgrounds, vocals, and leads that reflect a variey of emotions and real world happenings that effect us all, one way or the other.

David,
This is great...
This style suits you so well. Plaintive, soulful, etc. I also love the production and mix.
Put this on your next album - end side 1 with it... Pick up the trail on side 2...
Loved it!
Bob

David, Those opening lines... A patchwork of bruises and a suitcase that's fallin' apart ...are outstanding. Not only are they viscerally visual but they set the stage magnificently for what is to come. I really enjoyed listening to this. The style was a great fit! Yet another fine song to add to your songbook! All the best, Noel

Very nice country waltz with beautiful chord progression and powerful guitars. Your strong voice really suits the mood.

Cool stuff David!! Dripping with emotion, bitterness, and tinged with sarcasm. How'd you come up with Tahoma anyway? Some great stuff here, musically and lyrically. It would have been Peachy to have Duane drop by for the session but you and Gregg put together a fine collab!! Take care. Greg

A day doesn't go by that we don't listen to Greg. Janice's "desert island album" is Low Country Blues. Damn, we miss him.
Great lyrics delivered with a ton of emotion.
Enjoyed the spin!

So lonesome man. This sounds like Neil Young, who had a really bad day and really got nowhere to go. Yes, you definitely captured the moment!

David its all been said. I will add that this is absolutely your best to date. You should do more of this genre as you are excellent at it.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
