I see a lot of people have been doing some lonesome cowboy anthems, and I wanted to write a heart-rending, heart-twisting, gut-wrenching, soul-bustin’, tear-jerkin’, and all-night-drinkin’ and sobbin’ Allman Brothers type song for the Xtra Styles contest.
I might have one finally but there’s a back story.

Then, suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked. It was Gregg Allman. God let him out of heaven to come down for a session!! Thank you Jesus! Then Gregg said:
“Get off that piano bench. I’m gonna show you the chords on this one. We’re playing this as slow as it goes. 40 BPM. And we’re playing it clean. Duane couldn’t make it. You’ll have to keep up.”
