Blow Me In The Wind

I made this song a year ago for a hippie song contest on a local forum, from the title of the song you can guess where my first inspiration came from smile I hope I'm not crossing any lines of decency with this one, hopefully for a non-native English tongue-in-cheek songwriter this can be forgiven wink If not, I apologize. Some references to The Beatles and S & D & RR, but mainly it's about nature conservation, believe or not laugh To complete my vision, I hope one day I'll find a true Bob Dylan impersonator to sing this.

RealTracks:
Acoustic Bass #1162
Accordion #1757
Electric guitar #2629 (Solo)
Acoustic guitar #1600
Acoustic guitar #2914 (Pick)
Cello #1856
String Quartet #2334
Synth Flutes #2364
+acoustic piano ending

Loop Tabla_ban120
Real Drums: Tambourine

MIDI
SUNSETS.STY: Warm Pad (Vocalise), Sitar (SampleTank 3)
TABLA_1.STY: Sitar (GPO5), Drums

Vocals: Janne S + vocaloid + BIAB harmony

Mixed in Adobe Audition 2018

Lyrics:

Hold my stem and gently squeeze
roll your tongue and be a breeze
the world should think like fertile bees
work for honey, suck to please.

Like the down of dandelions
blow me, blow me in the wind
fly my fluff upon your mountains
blow me, blow me in the wind
spread my seeds in your valley
blow me in the wind.

The lips of bliss let nectar pour
make sweet love and never war
preserve these leas and save the Earth
puff the beauty of rebirth.

Like the down...

Like the down...

Hi Janne,

I really like this! I enjoy those times you sing your own lyrics. This is classic Folk-Pop. I love the percussions that come in around the 1:45 mark. Nice chord arrangement. This is a really good song, Janne - I enjoyed it very much!

Janne,

"the world should think like fertile bees
work for honey, suck to please."

Offended? No,this song gave me chuckles...especially those lines and, yes I can see how you could pitch it as an environmental message.
Its really well arranged - you always combine the RT`s in interesting and tasteful ways. The Strawberry Fields vibe at the ens is very well done, and its also a good clear vocal.
I wish we had hippie song contests!

I take it that English isn't your native language.

I laughed for quite a while just at the title.... then I read the lyrics and laughed even more.

I'm assuming you are not referring to any sort of carnal act, but maybe you are....either way.... but hey.... it's still funny.

The song is interesting. I heard some Beatles kind of stuff in there too.

Hahahahahahahaha!

So many fertility references in one song mister "not a native English speaker." Subtle it's not. smirk

Interesting dissonances with the sitar and Mellotron-ish flutes. Fun listen.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks Robert for your kind words smile Nice to hear you were not offended laugh Yep, number of bees is in rapid decline so some other species has to take care of the pollination, maybe that's the environmental message wink

Hello, Janne

Very cool old hippy song!
Sitar, Tabla and Mellotron flute give the Beatles' feel to this tune really well.
I had a slightly different feeling in it as your work.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Janne,

It's great to hear you sing again. Sounds to me like you had a bit of fun putting this one together and playing around with the English language.

It's a terrific arrangement and while you've captured a folk sound that's reminiscent of an earlier time in music it also has a freshness about it.

I enjoyed listening.

All the best,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
