I own quite a few waves plugins, and almost always buy them when they go on sale for $29.

They have a great deal at the moment, if you buy one of the plugins they have on sale for $29 you can get another $29 plugin for $1.

Pretty good deal if there is something there you need!

Sale ends in around 20 hours from the time of this post.

Here's a 10% off coupon for Waves Buyers. Not sure it applies to this one too.

https://www.waves.com/r/dp79lx

* Add:

I just got the CLA Vocals and REDD for $15 each. Been waiting for REDD.

REDD is just simply freakin' amazing for mastering warmth, and the preset I like for the whole Master Bus is Lead Vocals 1. You can tweak from there. Really warm. (Or lead Vocals 2 is another good place to start.)

CLA vocals is very interesting and the presets are good.

I would not use it as a one stop shop but I can definitely see it rounding out my mix polishing some edges and adding character other plugins can't touch, and I think I have them all.

Good find Dave.

$15 each.

REDD used to be $249.

Nice.

Dave,

Ok, here is what I say.

GET REDD.

It is the best thing I have. I finally have the secret sauce. Here is it man.

Two things.

Done, thanks for the tip! I was having a problem making my mind up. I got the J37 too.

I have CLA vocals, it's a good one. CLA guitars and CLA unplugged are also quite good, I use them on every mix.

Looks like they extended that sale another day BTW.

Good choice man.

No matter what you're mixing it all boils down to this:

Old School good, new school sketchy.

I picked up the J37 and the JJP strings and keys plug-ins late last night. I have a number of Wave plug-ins already but if the sale is still on I may go back and get a couple more.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

You are going to love that J-37 man.

And if you don't have it:

REDD.

Lead Vocal 1 Preset in Master Bus.

Trust me.

I'm playing with REDD now, very nice!

Often the preset names can be misleading, who would have thought a preset named vocal1 would sound good on the master bus?

Same with CLA Guitars, I use the preset called "Electric Chubby" on acoustic guitars sometimes.

It pays to experiment that's for sure!

I did go back and pick up REDD. What I do with all new plug-ins is to move all of the knobs/sliders all the way up and down then do it again while I am pressing the buttons, if there are any, just to see what it can do. I found that with both the J-37 and REDD that I can warm/sweeten the master or track or that I can totally destroy them! I really like plug-ins with that much variation!

Floyd,

In order to get into the Hip Hop program at Julliard, if you are asked what you are about to do when you bust a rhyme, you say:

1.) I'm gonna bust it old school.

2.) I'm gonna do something sketchy.

Think carefully. Your future as a Hip Hop Mogul depends on it.

I see that they are selling their Mercury Bundle which pretty much includes all of the plugins (with the exception of abbey rd and SSL) for $1399 when you use discount code ANN30.

There's also Code Red Free, a free VST of the same console that REDD was modeled on.

Well, donationware, anyway. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Another nice one I think is the Vocal Rider from waves,

Product overview.

Vocal Rider is the first of Waves pioneering new series of Mix tools. As its name implies,
it automatically rides vocal track levels. Instead of manually riding a mixing console
fader, or tediously drawing in every level change on a DAW track, Vocal Rider does it for
you, making it a true timesaver. All you need to do is set the target range of the vocal
level in relation to the rest of the mix. Then, Vocal Rider adjusts the level so it stays
within your target, raising or lowering the vocal volume, in real-time. And unlike
compression, Vocal Rider doesn’t add any additional coloring to your track. From the
recording studio to the concert stage, from the broadcast studio to the post house, Vocal
Rider takes mixing to the next level.

…………………………………………………………………………

I don't know if there is any free alternative that will do same thing.

Yep what I love about waves plugins, you click the little ? on the plugins and it opens directly the user pdf, some other plugins do the same I know, it is actually interesting to read some of the manuals such as the concept behind the j37 from waves.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
