Peter and PG development:
As reported by jcspro40, I also am getting flamming or double hits on kicks and snares on some slow- tempo Real Drums.
For example, I loaded the demo song for =ALTCTRY, changed the tempo to 80 and then loaded RealDrums CountryPopEV16^ from the new RealDrums #29, which is rated at 80-170 bpm.
At 80 bpm there is a definite problem and I think the reason is that BIAB is still playing the 110 bpm version of CountryPopEV16^ no matter what the tempo is. If I change the tempo to 170 and hit "play," BIAB is still playing the 110 bpm version of the RealDrum.
I have not tried other songs or other RealDrums, but this could be the reason that some people are reporting the flamming problem a slow tempos -- that for some RealDrums, BIAB is still using the higher bpm version of the file even when the temp is set considerably lower, but still within the range listed for that particular RealDrum.
Thanks for looking, John

Hi John
In beta testing and since I had a few problems with both Realdrums and freezing
I resolved both by making sure that when making any changes to save the song each time before playing
Worth a try

jazzman,
Thanks for the suggestion. Saving the song didn't seem to make a difference.
For RD CountryPop EV16, Biab plays the 110 bpm version no matter where the song tempo is set.

It may be due to your RealTracks settins for Halftime/Doubletime, see if that's set to true. The program could be attempting to automatically pick what it thinks is the best realtrack for the job.
There is also a setting in the RealTracks settings window that can be checked off to select the best tempo RT for the job, too.
Now that we have those two functions, which greatly expand which RealTracks can be used at a given Tempo, it may be necessary to vist those controls if you are wanting to force a specific pick and change Tempo.

Hi Mac:
I tried the song with CountryPopEV16 RealDrums, with and without the two settings you mentioned for Real Tracks.
It didn't seem to make a difference either way. Do those settings apply to both Real Tracks and Real Drums? With the song tempo set to 80 bpm, BIAB still plays the song using the drum file with a native bpm of 110. I think that is what is causing the flamming.
Since at least BIAB 2009, I think, if you change the tempo significantly, BIAB has played a different RealDrum file. It will usually play the same RealDrum style, but with a native bpm closer to the tempo the user has selected for the song.
I just tried this with several other Real Drums and BIAB was changing the file to a diffferent native bpm if I significantly changed the tempo....but not for Real Drum CountryPopEV16 -- part of Real Drums #29 --
Thanks,
John

Ah. RealDRUMS. right.
Have you looked into that target RealDrums folder and ascertained that you do have a different Tempo realdrums for that specific one? Maybe there is nothing else to choose from or something.

Hi Mac:
That is the problem. For CountryPopEV16, there is only one audio file and it has a native bpm of 110, even though it is rated at 80-170-- so no matter the tempo you choose, Biab plays the 110 bpm version.

Hi John,
I have tried the CountryPopEV16 and it seems to change to the required tempo's ok here
Perhaps try re-installing the RealTracKs/Drums again as something could be slightly out of line/corrupted in the original install jazzman

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
