Hi all, I used Band In a Box/Realband 2010 ver 292 to make this song.
I used the style _COUNTRYMF

I put it here just so that people can see that Band In A Box/Realband 2010 ver.292 works for some people.
My Operating System is Windows XP service pack 3.

Here it is: Please Say You Will ( my second attempt at a country song)

Let me know what you think, please.

Regards
Michee

Sounds great to me! Very good vox, backing tracks and mix.

It’s a keeper.

Michee,

Nice song here, very nice job putting this together. Is that an original lyric?

PS: Regarding 2010 w/292 working for some people as you state above: Yes it does work, especially if you are just putting one song together. But you must admit that is a big difference vs. looking at an audience of 100 or more staring you down while you hit the play button and wonder what error message will present itself next, or if it will play at all, that my friend is cause to sweat. Not complaining as I know the bugs will be fixed, just hoping it won’t take too long because the new features of 2010 are stellar indeed.

Later,

Hi Danny C, Thank you for your kind comments.
Yes, the lyrics are all mine (good or bad )
I wrote the song in about 15 minutes (these times I call inspiration from above )
Of course the mix took a little longer as that is something that changes with every song
so it's not like learning a set number of items but grows and grows.
I find that I have to then take advice from this forum and use "less is more".
As to playing live in front of an audience with Band In A Box, you are indeed brave, if you are
unsure about the version you currently have.
I myself just play in front of my local Folk Club with acoustic 12 string guitar (maybe 30 to 60 people)
I am sure that Dr Peter Gannon is actively working on a stable version for all users.

Best regards
Michee

Hi Michee,

I agree with all the comments. You've done a excellent job with this one. Production, singing, everything 10/10. I agree with Sam, there's definitely a Roy Orbison flavour to it. My single suggestion would be to cut back a smidgen on the reverb. This is an entirely personal thing, though, because I'm not really into reverb all that much! Certainly for a Orbison 50s/60s sound, the amount of reverb you have used was very common.

I'm impressed
Noel

Hi Michee. I like it just like it is. Very well laid out. Balance is great. Your voice is great. The lyrics are great. Why aren't I hearing this on the radio?

Did all of you say you're having trouble with 2010 BB/RB? I've just now installed the new one. Picked it up yesterday when I discovered that the beta was up and I couldn't use it anymore. It was working just fine for me. Guess I'll find out what's in store when I try to do a song in these new versions.

Anyway I think you have a hit on your hands with this song. If you write country music this well as an attempt I can only assume you write all kinds of genre of music. Good on ya Mate. Keep 'em coming.

Michee,

Very nice work - everything flows together well. Maybe a tad less verb on the vox - but it is really a keeper the way it is.

I am a harmonica freak - so I really liked that part

Thanks for sharing

Hi Powderman, I don't consider myself a "singer" so maybe I use too much reverb to try and mask my inadequate voice.
Thank you for your nice comments.

Best regards
Michee

Nice one!!!

Perhaps a tad less reverb on the vox in the chorus.

Great song, great performance and great production.

Yes I agree that I could use less reverb.
(but as I said, I am not a singer so I use reverb maybe too much.
I am still trying to find the correct way to mix vocals. )
Thank you for your nice comments.

Best regards
Michee

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
