This is one that I wrote about a year ago, and I just can't seem to get away from that "traditional" country sound. Lord I Need You So many times I've tried, to do things on my own, and many times I failed at what I do. When All the while the answer, was right there in your word, all I had to do is trust in you. Chorus: Lord I need you, to guide me all the way, Lord I need you, to help me see the light of day. You said in your word, you'd not forsake me, Lord I need you, please hear me when I pray. In this life we live, so much heartache and pain, Satan tries his best to keep us down. All we have to do is seek you, and follow your example, you can make a smile out of a frown. Repeat Chorus: https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v4/player.cfm?songID=13718484BIAB 2018 Ultra, Acoustic Country W/Pedal Steel style, Brent Mason lead guitar, Roland VS-880 Vexpanded multitracker, Lexicon Alpha interface, Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio, Sennheiser 935 Mic.

Hi Ronnie, Why should you try to get away from traditional sounding country if you can make a good song with this style? You did that and you should be proud of the song! I enjoyed listening!
Thanks for sharing, Will

I know this was likely intended solely as a religious song ( or maybe it wasn't ), but I feel like the following lines could apply to anyone about themselves too:
"So many times I've tried, to do things on my own, and many times I failed at what I do. When All the while the answer, was right there in your word, all I had to do is trust in you."
If you trust yourself, how can you go wrong?
You did an awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Ember

Another strong country gospel song. It's your wheelhouse - as usual, a good listen.

Really well done, Ronnie You really got the classic gospel country sound nailed, and this is no exception. I enjoyed the poignant lyrics and gentle instrumentation on this one. It flowed gorgeously to me. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Nice work Ronnie, I really enjoyed the overall tone of this. This sounds very full and I dig the overall timbres. Very captivating lyrics. Great work!
Cheers, Joe

What's discouraging is with all these songs that I have written and made great soundtracks to, I can't get a publisher to even listen to them!!

Nice work, Ronnie
I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but the Nashville market has changed so much that it's virtually impossible to get publishers to listen to anything anymore. The reason is, honestly, that outside songs are rarely if ever recorded anymore (outside songs are those not written by the artist, the artist's producer, controlled by the artist's/label's publishing company, etc.) In the 90s when all of us here were making good money & getting lots of cuts, there were around 4,500 songwriters with publishing deals in Nashville (staff writers). That number is now less than 300, most of them being young writer-artists.
It's truly not a reflection on the quality of your work. It's a byproduct of the way the business has evolved. Goes to show that not all change is for the better.
Keep up the good work!

Ronnie, this is the first tune of yours I've had the opportunity to listen to. It's a wonderful song with a great job on the vocals! I think the country genre is the perfect home for this one. Good work! Thanks, Torrey

Great work there, Ronnie. Well done.
My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile
