Hi Folks.
My friend wrote this tune years ago... It was a sort of campfire song that he performed when stars came out. I tried to push idea for him to come and record this at my place, but unfortunately that occasion never took place. He got married recently and as a small gift to him, I made an arrangement and recorded this song. All BIAB tracks except for FX. With Tim's permission, I am uploading this to my soundcloud and sharing it with this community.

Alien Creatures

Lyrics:

Alien Creatures with animal features
Standing, standing over my bed.
I am asleep dreaming off sandy beaches
And deep blue skies over my head.

Alien Creatures with animal features
Looking for switches inside of my head.
I am asleep dreaming off sandy beaches
While my body twitches on my bed.

Run run run run away tonight,
Everything is gonna gonna be alright.
If you see my clone, I want you to know
That real me ain’t far from home

Run run run away like hell,
Otherwise you too will be under their spell.
They will send back home your empty shell
And no-one will be able to tell.

They take me aboard of their alien ship
And there’re others like me on this alien trip
And I see planet Earth, a blue dot below
And wherever we go, I don’t wanna go.

What if it’s an intergalactic feast,
We are just another course for their beast?
At least here I should try to resist
Because they are cloning us and no one was missed.

Alien creatures with animal features
Cloning our features and trying our switches.
Before they can get to me, something glitches
And I wake up inside one of their ditches.

I open my eyes and I clench my fists
And I look around. I decide to resist.
When I see a swarm of these alien beasts
I just jump right into their mists!

Alien creatures with animal features
They are not very good at securing their breaches.
Their pilot is dead and his body twitches
As I take control of his switches.

Big blue beautiful planet below.
I am coming in hot, I am coming in low
I defeated a host of these alien foes
And my UFO starts to glow.

I open the hatch and come outside
“Baby come out, there’s no need to hide”
But a sinister feeling is growing inside
The very second I see my bride.

I guess you ran and ran like hell
But it wasn’t fast enough for their alien spell
All I have left is an empty shell
And no one is able to tell.

A really great tune, fantastic mix, fun lyrics, delivered at a dynamic pace.

I liked the sound effects too.

Every part of the song was enjoyable. Well done!

Hi Misha,

I was already scratching reading your lyrics. Very funny with a fitting happy end!
The melody is the melody is cheerful, but as I said, a bit itchy.
I wonder how you get the ideas for these kind of lyrics. I was wondering that with your other songs as well, but you keep surprising me pleasantly.
It looks like your vocals have more volume now (that is a compliment). The recordings are very clear, to my ears...

Nice day,
Hans

Yeah, I like this.

Love the lyrics, big tip of the hat to Tim! Really good vocal too, Misha. Is that your wife joining you at the end?

And I really like the production on this, starting out with just the electric piano, and then the little breakdown at 1:54 or so. And nice use of fx also.

Excellent!

Misha,

Quite a fun, wild 3 minute ride! A story well told.

Cool music and cool effects. The vocal has the perfect "frantic" feel - nicely recorded. Good mix.

Good listen.

Absolutely brilliant!!! Quirky (just the way I like it) - what a superb job. How on Earth your friend found some of those rhymes in the lyrics is beyond me ... and I love to write poetry, so ...... and the singing and arrangement made me smile from start to finish. Bravo, bravo, bravo - great stuff! :-)

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hey man, think you could cram a little more into three minutes? smile
How you got all those lines in is amazing.
The listener has no choice...just hang on!!

My head is spinning. And marveling at the coolness of this.

Your friend wrote a fascinating lyric and you did him justice
with a fine production!

Ha-ha. First off all Thank you for listening and your kind feedback here and on SC! Originally there was more lyrics to this, fortunately for me I only had what I had, otherwise I would probably faint trying to sing it all smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
