I will label this song nevertheless as: very well done! Clear and nice.

This is really good. Nice mix and super vox.

If I were to make one suggestion it would be to either bring the voice up a tad and/or the backing instruments down a tad during the chorus. However this is really nitpicking and it may only be me.

Super job on a super song.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Ya, MarioD had it right with adjusting the vocal level during the chorus. And he was also right about this being a Super job on a super song. Is it original? Cuz you get extra points for original

Much nice here - reminds me a little of the 60's group the Cyrkle ("Red Rubber Ball'). Still would try to bring out the lead vocal a bit 'cause I'm having trouble hearing some of the lyric. For starters, the pedal steel off to the right might be brought down. Also the ending could be more defined rather than just dropping off.
Much enjoyed my listen.

Michee - No labels but certainly sounds Country.
I too think that your vocal level and mix needs some adjusting throughout.
First - the chorus - I almost lose it in the instrumentation - suggestion - group your stringed instruments then pull them down in 1k to 3k - they are competing with the highs in your voice and swallowing it up. Burp

I'd also like to see you add some bottom in your voice 250-500. I want to hear the lyrics without straining, I feel you sound to far away from the mic.
Nice flow, definite places in the melody for harmony - like in the chorus - might make the chorus vocals sound louder too.

Time for some more frequency tweaking IMHO. Good one.

Cheers - Ian

Superbron Thanks for taking a listen and the kind words.

MarioD Thanks for the advice, I will try to reduce the instruments as you recommend.

Jazzmandan Yes this song is all mine - lyrics, melody and arrangement - good or bad

georgeptingley Thank you for your nice comments. I will try to take your advice and work a little more on the song.

Ian Fraser Thank you for your constructive comments Ian. Alas my hearing has lost its high end so that may have something to do with it.

Don Gaynor Thank you Don for your nice comments.

Best regards
Michee

Great tune

Make a few of the suggested adjustments and I would say it's done.

Great song. Nice job on the melody.
The only thing I could suggest is it sounds a little labored to me. I'd like to hear it a little faster. JMO.

Hi Michee,

I downloaded this song a week ago and listened to it. I just noticed that I didn't leave a comment! Everything seems to be covered in the above comments. That only leaves me to say, "I loved it!" One thing that I really appreciate in your songs is their listenability (if there's such a word). It definitely has a 60s vibe but, in my book, that's good - I love 60s vibes

Keep up the excellent work.

Noel

PgFantastic Thank you for your nice comments.

Noel96 Thanks for your comments. I just love the 60's style of music, the songs seemed to be more memorable as opposed to most of today's music.
Don't get me wrong I like a lot of today's music, it's just that I don't remember them in the same way as I remember the old songs (pictures of memories I suppose.)

Best regards
Michee

Ditto the other comments, George. Nice song!

The pedal steel doesn't sound like a real-track or a loop to my ears. Is that your play-along instrument? I always like to know what parts of the song were played by the composer.

While I agree on the mix for the vocals, the rest (to me at least) sounds superb. Great tune, great performance, George!!!

Cheers,
Mike

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
