Bring Your Love To Me

Di and I wrote this one back in 2012 when we were still pretty new to BIAB. I was lying back in my chair and plunking on my Tele plugged into my my Peavey Nashville 112 amp ... then the basics if this song happened and demanded more work. This is where it ended up. We didn't record it until early 2014 and posted it on the forum soon after. That was about 6 years ago.

It has an unusual arrangement, but we kind of like it. It has only one verse, which establishes the opening. The verse is followed by a pre-chorus, then a chorus. That's followed by a short sax instrumental pass. Then the pre-chorus and chorus routine is repeated until the ending. We're open to your thoughts on that ... and anything else.

When Souncloud reformatted the WAV file, it acquired a little more higher EQ than the original. Most of the time, I lose some higher EQ. Oh well ... inexplicable mysteries of technology! Hope you might like it a bit. Thanks in advance! Everyone, please be safe!!!!

I'd been asking her to marry me for about three years ... she finally said "Yes!" Bring Your Love To Me

(v1)
You've been the one for me, since I can't remember
You ought to know by now, it's time for sweet surrender
Baby you turn me on, with your voice so strong but tender
So bring yourself over here, let's light these embers

Pre-Chorus
No need to fret it, you won' regret it
I'll make you thankful in every way
No need to worry, oh Baby hurry
Don't make me wait another day

CHORUS
Bring your love to me, give me all you have
Can't you see I need you so much
Bring your love to me, don’t hesitate one minute
I hunger for your lover's touch
I've spent a lifetime waiting for you Baby
Don't leave me hanging on, tell me yes don't tell me maybe
Our time is now, don't wait for tomorrow
Bring your love to me, don't leave me in sorrow

INSTRUMENTAL

Pre-Chorus
No need to fret it, you won' regret it
I'll make you thankful in every way
No need to worry, oh Baby hurry
Don't make me wait another day

CHORUS
Bring your love to me, give me all you have
Can't you see I need you so much
Bring your love to me, right now this minute
I hunger for your lover's touch
I've spent a lifetime waiting for you Baby
Don't leave me hanging on, tell me yes don't tell me maybe
Our time is now, don't wait until tomorrow
Bring your love to me, don't leave me in sorrow

Al and Di,

This is another classic, the likes that you seem to be able to deliver with effortless ease.

Everything about this song is just so likeable.

BTW, the photo gallery is pretty good too!

Great job, great mix, great sound.

Alan,

You truly can cover any style with your great musical sensibilities and vocal stylings. This song is very cool and has that great 70s vibe.

Some great pictures as well!

Really nice work, Alan smile The 70's influence on this is strong, which is absolutely fine by me. Your vocals in particular are really strong - and the pictures were a nice touch that I appreciated.

Thanks for sharing!

This is SO beautiful! You write such moving songs, tinged with melancholy (at least a little, perhaps), yet genuine classics.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary - the photos of you two are beautiful!

Please keep posting - it feels like a breath of fresh air and a little reset of my brain, every time I listen to your songs. Thanks and well done.

Alan & DI,

As Dave said - you are so good at this kind of song. That "cool jazz" style is something that I would not even think to look for in BIAB - and each time you do one of these I think "Ooooh...I need to try out that stuff!" (I doubt I ever will. HA!) You are a GREAT ambassador for Band-In-A-Box!!

Nicely done, A pleasant vocal...

A very enjoyable listen...

Now this I like! I listened to a lot of formula structured songs, so to hear something different that just says "this would sound great here" is so fun. I like the unexpected surprises that still work and flow so well.

Thanks for the ride. I enjoyed it and am getting my ticket to go for another ride. smile

Hi Bob!

That's so nice of you to say ... thanks so much. We were going for the early to late 70s sound. No particular reason ... we just liked the r&B/Soul sounds of that era and decided to write one. Again, thank you!

Wishing you the very best. Be safe ...

Alan,
I hardly noticed the lack of a second verse; the song has a groove which might have been lost if you`d brought things down after the sax solo.
Its all sounding very good; as we all know, you are a top level writer of ballads in this genre- I`m glad I got to enjoy this one!

Hello James ...

So nice to see you commenting on our song. We certainly appreciate your very kind comments. And yes, there is a bit of melancholy in this one. And we will keep posting a few of these older tunes ... my time to work on new productions is very limited.

I see you've posted a new one. I'll be over real soon to give it a listen.

Wishing you the very best. Be safe ...

Hi Floyd ...

I always seem to be at a loss to reply appropriately to your nice comments on our music. This genre just seems to come to us from who knows where. I guess our muse knows us better than we know ourselves. Di and I are huge fans od Lew Ralls, Barry White, Diana Krall, Steve Tyrell, and the like.

As far as being an ambassador, well i don't know about that. But you are very, very kind to say so. We appreciate you very much. Wishing you the very best. Please be safe ...

Hello HTL ...

I'm also originally a midwesterner ... grew up in and around St. Louis. Now live in Northern Alabama.

Thank you so very much for your very nice words! I do a lot of experimenting with BIAB ... it's a lot of fun and sometimes something good comes from it. Mixing seemingly incompatible genres, playing with odd chord progressions and combining a questionable assemblage of backing tracks can get very interesting! So glads you enjoyed this one ... thanks for letting us know.

Wishing you the very best. Be safe ...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
