With this track I used real tracks 'Lite pop with songwriter guitar'. A good starting point that helped get me inspired.

When it came to mixing I only used the e.piano and one of the guitars from BIAB.
Drums are Logic Drummer playing EZ Drummer instrument.
Bass is Ample Upright.
Guitar is a strat played through IKM Amplitube. I have used Amplitube for years and love it.

Hope you enjoy.

Probably should have mentioned that I used BIAB midi file for the bass.... From memory I just used the 'replace with midi' option...

Aw, see now THAT is emotion! That sets a mood. That's saying something without words; but we all feel it. You immediately hooked me and had me the whole time. To say it altered the mindset I was in (a bit rushed before this) would be an understatement.

Thanks for the "reset." Love it!

Chris,

Excellent playing. Really nice tone, too.

Good mix. A good listening experience.

Do you use audiophile? At this point I am using the ultrapak and using software to add sonic enhancement to each track. Maybe the audiophile tracks would need less post-production?

I do not use the audiophile version. I have the UltraPak (and have been using that since 2012). From my perspective, there is little reason to think that the "regular" version is somehow "lacking". Especially once you've got more than just one of two instruments in a mix. One can discern a slight difference in some acoustic guitars and some cymbals (in the audiophile version), but those are easily compensated for with just a little EQ. - And I don't much care for a lot of cymbals in the drum tracks I use - I prefer mostly kick and snare dominated drum tracks. Folks have a tendency to let those cymbals get too brash and abrasive while trying to up the level of the stereo drum tracks. When I listen to my own productions, I try to make sure that is in context of "professional" recordings. They stand up well to that (in my opinion). - fj

Chris,
Beautiful; lots of feel without flash in your guitar playing and a good mix.

Nice work Chris. Love the guitar (the sound and the playing). The chords are interesting and that melody is very sweet.
Cheers,
Mike

Wow, that strat sounds extraordinary. "In the right hands," right? Outstanding overall. Band in a Box has many ways to inspire creation, and you have captured the feeling brilliantly.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Chris ...

Welcome to the forum.

This is my kind of music ... I do a lot of smooth jazz. Nice backing tracks and mix. Love the sound of your Strat. And you found the perfect touch of echo-delay. Just enough to know it's there but not enough to clutter.

I think Greg hit the nail on the head... A smooth jazz version of Santana. That was a terrific listen from beginning to end. Totally enjoyed it ... kicked back, eyes close, mouth slightly smiling. yeah ... that good!

Wishing you the best. Be safe ...

Alan

Really like this. Excellent song and performances. That guitar is smooth like butter, great feeling and expression. You instantly created a distinctive mood and then explored it very expertly. Great stuff!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
