Hi all,
Here's a french minor blues.
Nicolas Renaud has written the lyrics.
Philippe Janin is the singer.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/debbie

Here's an approximate translation :

She put her wings
In a neighborhood bar
The night is beautiful
Her voice is bloody
She came to sing
Jazz and gospel
And we listen to her
And we travel with her

She reached out her hands
Touched our faces
Shown in the distance
Other wilderness
Her message is velvet
Her words are worthless
Without music and without rage
Without music and without rage

Chorus :
When Debbie sings
Her voice during the day
Challenges love
When Debbie sings
Her voice at night
Challenges life
Debbie

She plays with hell
Blues is her story
Nothing else to do
She plunges us into the dark
Love is somewhere
In the shadow or the light
Stashed in her gaze
Love is somewhere

Chorus (Instrumental)

She put her wings
In a neighborhood bar
The night is beautiful
Her voice is bloody
She came to sing
Jazz and gospel
And we listen to her
And we travel with her

Chorus

The bass at about 18 seconds is very indistinct..I can't tell if there's actually a note in that spot or a rest..it "feels" like there's a note but it's not a great choice by BIAB against the chord and voice.

Lovely song, terrific vocal.

Cheers

Nice feel to this, and I enjoyed your choice of RT's. Really liked the vocals that you mixed into the background. And the little bits that you used at the end -- the mandolin and the piano notes -- a nice way to finish it. Again, enjoyed my listen.

A wonderfully lilting song, and a superb vocal, Christian. The lyrics are so compelling. I especially like the CHORUS.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Christian,

Nice Chanson!
Philippe's vocal is very comfortable.
I feel Pierre Barouh a little.
And I feel Francis Lai in some way in the melody.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Very well done with the write, vocal and production.

You always have an interesting selection of RT's and this is no exception.

The arrangement is excellent and the piano and mandolin were great additions.

Enjoyed it!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
