The crowd is too loud, it is sort of obvious it is fake. Bring the crowd in at the beginning , end and quiet sections and it would sound more realistic.

I love the blues

I love this tune

Two thumbs up and straight to the keeper folder it goes.

Hey Mick,

You did a great job with the backing tracks. I'm with Kevin on the audience, they need to shut it when the verse starts, IMO They sound good, but I think you musta been recording some of my family.

Those Real Tracks are so much fun to make music with. I kept waitin for the synthophone to play a mean lead with a B3 patch. Love the Brass, wow !!

You went and done it now. I gotta crank up the Blues Band here now.

Great job with the song bro.

Mick,
No, the audience doesn't shut up at a club when you're playing, but a good sound man will have his levels set so when the musicians start playing, their playing is going to mute the background audience.

The next thing that strikes me is the 'thinness' of the sound. The best way I can describe this is that it sounds like some of those YouTube videos that were taken with an inexpensive video camera about 30-40' back from the stage.

Listen to the difference between this and 'Higher Ground' which is billed as 'Live.' I'm assuming that the person who did the sound mixing on this was able to balance the music properly, and get the sound you wanted.

I think the playing is wonderful, but I think there is something deathly wrong with the final mix.

My two cents

Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

Since I've never played with a soundman to control the levels I can say that when I start playing I just drown out he crowd.

Atually, the best live sounding performance I've heard was with Peter Frampton. You could always hear the audienc but the levels were cut way down, then brought back up at key times.

However, I loved this song. Sounded great to me.

Hi Mick,

Nice one!

Daft question from a newbie...

Is that all BIAB 'real tracks' or are you playing a real instrument along to it?

I guess the audience was 'real' at one time! ;-)

Frank

New to BIAB and just got hold of a 2007 Megapak... but I have been writing songs for quite awhile... most of them hits (of course..) :-)

Hi Frank,
No such thing as a daft question.
The drums were midi that I rendered through SampleTank.
The bass, guitars & organ are all RealTracks.
The horns are all played by me with the Synthophone.

Thanks for listening.

Russ!!
I sent you an email to see if you were okay.
Thanks for listening.
Glad you're still here!

That's exactly the sound I was looking for!

Higher Ground was done with everything straight into the board. No mics. No background noise. That's why it sounds so much cleaner.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
