Hello Don,

I use an app called Freecorder which resides on my toolbar. Easy to use- click to start; click to stop and you have. an MP3.

Go to - http://applian.com/freecorder4/.

If any of our Linux users want to know how to do this, it's simple:
Start the YouTube playing, hit pause and wait until the song has finished streaming. Then, without closing your browser, find the /tmp folder in your file system and the .mp3 will be there waiting for you to save it.

Is it just me? My whole system freezes and I have to hardware-reset my system (XP-SP3 on an Intel quadcore) whenever I try to use Freerecorder 4.
Too bad....
I looked at their site and they seem to have some real nice software and I would be interested in buying a software suit from them. The fact that the free, simple Freerecorder f***s up my system puts me down.

I wanted to put some videos on my son's mp4-player.

russ, the advantage is its a 'one click' solution. and no long tails to trim. it even does audio format conversions.

mike, you might run the problem through their tech support people. its well worth your trouble.

I put a "3" in the "y" of youtube url address, on enter hit it will open a web site with a menu of the original formats available for the YT video, download your choice. After I use Total Video Converter for batch or single mp3 conversion. It bring me a lot of options and is fast!.

Example:

original YouTube url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLHoFoRudOM&fmt=18
now substitute "3" for "Y", it will read: http://www.3outube.com/watch?v=FLHoFoRudOM&fmt=18
- Hit enter for download the video
- Use your favorite format converter.
- You done

Carlos, that little trick has made my day. I wonder how long it will be before You Tube nail that trapdoor shut?

Is Total Video Converter just as clever and useful?

Thanks again. I wish I had known this 12 months ago.

Cheers,

John

Hi John, I am glad it work for you too, I think same about it, wondering myself how time more it will be making the trick for us. I also discovered it recently. Although I haven't tried many other more, TVC does work enuf good for me, lot of formats, from old traditional commun ones to iPOD, iPhones etc. Also is fast and very tweakable for custom settings.

Yeah, there are programs for you to capture music from YouTube as mp3 files by simply clicking buttons. You could find the programs with the name of Audacity, Freecorder, Streaming Audio Recorder, etc.

There is a freeware program available on CNET.COM named MP3ROCKET which does what you want. Everybody I've talked to who uses it just loves it.

There's also a paid version, but from what I hear, the free version is uncrippled

Something must be set wrong or you have a conflict with some software. I have upgraded to Windows 7 but ran Free Recorder on the very same set up you had without problems. You might want to remove and reinstall or contact their support to see if they can assist. It really is a pretty cool and useful program.

Hi, a lot of programs with “record” functions allow you to capture youtube music by simply clicking buttons. Before you record, you may set the output audio files as MP3. You can type the keywords of capture YouTube music and then find some useful directions on your internet browser.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
