Hi,

Here is a song I wrote in an older version of Biab (I think it was Biab 11) so all midi

Here it is -: TIME

For all who like the lyrics here they are

Time Seems To Be Such A Strange Little Word
But Oh What Does Time Really Mean In This World
I Thought That Time Would Ease All the Pain
But Time After Time Oh the Pain It Comes Again

Remember the Time When We Were So Young
Time Seemed To Pass Ever Slowly Along
The Summer Nights Were Warm When You Were Near
But Time It Moved On Yeah Moved on Another Year

And Now the Time Just Flies Along
It Seems To Be In A Race So Long
And We Lost Our Love in the Night
Why That Was I Don’t Really Know
I wish that you didn’t have To Go
And You Stayed Here Together With Me

The First Time I Saw My One Special Girl
The Time That We Spent In Our Own Secret World
The Time that we walked By the Sea Arm in Arm
We Held Ourselves Close So Close To Keep Warm

But Time Moved On It Way
And Now We Have A Different Day
It Took Me To A World That Is Strange And New
Time Is The Gift We Get We Haven’t Used It All Up Yet
Time Is A Gift Too Precious To Lose

Time Played the Game and I'm Back at the Start
Thinking Of You with A Dream in My Heart
We All Have Our Time and it’s Our Time to Use
But Remember There’s No Time to Lose

Did I Use My Time So Well
Well You Know I Cannot Tell
But there’s something that’s missing In My Life Tonight
If I Could Turn Back Time
Hey That Would Be Really Fine
And You Could Still Be Mine

Time Doesn’t Seem Such A Strange Little Word
I think now I Know What It Means In This World
For None Of Us Know What Time Has In Store
Or What Time Will Bring Evermore
Or What Time Will Bring Evermore

Best regards

Michee

Hi George,

Nice song. I like the structure and instrumentation.. and I have commented favorably on your vocals many times in the past (still true)

The first thing I did was read through the lyrics (without hearing the song). After reading the verbal content I was expecting a more melencholy accompaniment.... but the song was actually kind of bouncy and upbeat. At first that left me with a sense of cognitive dissonance (tapping my foot while thinking about the irreversable passage of time and all its accompanying regrets is not my usual style. I prefer a bit more self-delusion with my foot-tapping)

But after a few more listens, it started to fit into a pattern that makes more sense to me. In the 60s there were a lot of songs along this line. It wasn't yet fashionable to be totally dark lyrically, so the songs expressed concerns with an air of hope and tentative optimism. So my final take on the song is that the central character is not so much lamenting the passage of time as he is reflecting on it. Wondering aloud without passing any judgments or conclusions as to whether the time had been spent wisely... all with an upbeat "either way, it is what it is" attitude.

Now you've got me thinking. (Perhaps that's what songs do best...)

You got it in one!

When I wrote the song it started with the thought that the word "time" means so may different things.
Like "doesn't time fly" and then the opposite "is that all the time" or "what a wonderful time we had" or "times were hard back then".

By the way here is the style and soloist I used.

Soloist used no.20 Blues (even 8ths) Organ
Style is C_MODERN.STY (Country Modern)
Style MIDI Instruments are : Acoustic String Bass (33), Acoustic Piano (1), Nylon String Guitar (25), Strings (49),
MIDI Drums :1 Standard Drum Kit (1)

Thanks for the nice comments

Best regards
Michee

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
