I can't get it to do anything here either.

Whether I use the wildcard or load a song(s)

Hitting play does nothing here
build 3

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Just a sudden random thought, but perhaps this may have something to do with how you have Indexing set up in the OS?

Indexing on here also. The thing is it works perfect in 2011 Build 1. When they added a larger song limit in Build 2 the Juke Box no longer functioned.

Guess you don't need more piling on to confirm this doesn't work, but here is one more.

I am unable to get the Jukebox to work...build 3. I have not seen any acknowledgement from PG about this issue. Have I just missed it? Surely they are aware of it and are working on it but it would be nice to have some confirmation. It is a badly needed part of this program for live performance.

It seems to me to be curious that so many can't get it to work, but the guys can't replicate it?!?! I have an idea. If it works for you guys (Jeff and Andrew) How about a short and quick step by step explanation of the process you use to get it to work. I know there is a tutorial but i mean a quick bullet point, walk through. like first open program, and click on ......

This would be helpful cause then we could see if we are doing something different, and it would save you time in the long run.

I use the Juke Box daily and have for months & months and use it live so I know how to use it. During Beta I discovered, because of a gig I had that needed an extra long set, that the Juke Box was very limited in the amount of songs you could have in it If the path to those songs was deep down in the file system. The limitation is the # of characters that can be used. They confirmed this and were to fix for 2011. When they fixed this limit ,as we know, it broke the thing. Now maybe there's some other change to get it to work but the manual makes no mention & I can't get it going .

No JOY here either (translation: Juke Box doesn’t work here even with just one song listed). Piling on late since I don’t visit here often and not a big RB user (actually almost never use it)

Win XP Pro SP3, RB build 3 (didn’t go back and try earlier builds or versions)
And while it makes no difference also PTPA 2010 and BIAB 2011 both complete (everything there is going back to DOS days and I think 97% of all non-BIAB/PTPA stuff that PG sells)

Wish you (us) luck SOON John

Larry

John, my suggestion had nothing to do with showing you how to use it. What i was suggesting is that since they can't replicate the problem, then maybe Jeff and Andrew could detail how THEY set it up and enter songs, so if their method was a tad different we could emulate it.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
