DS al Coda symbols not printing correctly in Sierra ... 1st 2nd endings print OK, and Segno symbol OK.
However, the Coda symbol is replaced by a large "Fl".

Attempted to select "other" fonts in print option, but that just crashes the programme.

Occurred on Build 143 ... updated to Build 146 ... no change.

The song is an arrangement of "You Go to mMy Head" that I have modified with repeats and DS etc to get it to print on one page as a lead sheet.

It prints fine from the old Windows Biab version 11, which I run under Parallels, but fails miserably Mac 2016 version.

I've attached a dropbox link to the .MGU which you can download if you wish (I tried it downloading from the link ,,, no problems.

Can't upload MGU files to this forum, I'm afraid ...

I've tried other MGUs ... same result in Sierra/Mac 2016

Sierra is 10.12.1 level, and Biab 2016 is build 146

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks. That's a great job you did with this number.

In addition to your discovery when i bring up the lead sheet window there are " missing " letters ( for a lack of a better explanation ). Hope the screen shot makes it clear.

There are obviously some graphical glitches that the PG team hopefully will address/correct soon.

For greater certainty this is happening in macOS Sierra .

I doubt it's a Sierra related issue. I am running BIAB 146 on El Capitan 10.11.6. I downloaded your .MGU file from Dropbox and see the same results (as you attached above) for the Coda symbols.

I tried DS al Coda on a new test file and got the same results. Broken.

(The missing letters in Title sub-fields can be easily fixed by just re-entering the missing letters.)

I guess that you have reported to PG Music so they are aware?

Hello bellini,

Thank you for your post. We have reported your findings to our developers for their attention. They will take a look at how the DS al Coda symbols are displaying in Band-in-a-Box 2016 as soon as possible.

Thank you all very much for your responses. Very encouraging! (But I'd expect no less from Mac users :}

I shall await the Biab gnomes to address the issue(s) raised.

Mr Mags ... I've done some chord arrangement tuning on the original file I posted if you are interested.

You are also correct re the other graphical glitches ....

Ciao

OK ... 2017 version for Mac appears to have fixed the failure to print symbols, and chopping off the first letter of the name etc.

Thanks for that.

I don't know about you guys but when I go to the zipppyshare site listed Several times above, first of all I cannot get "You go to my head".
What I do get when I hit the back arrow to get out of the site is a warning that my iPad has 6 viruses. WTF has happened twice.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
