Very nice indeed.

Noel,

Thank you for your kind comment. I was encouraged a lot.

Yes, it was a great idea that I had chosen Sinsy-Yoko as the female vocal for this song. It perfectly matched it.

Marty,

Thank you for your comment. My efforts to get the best result from Sinsy and tune it up further paid off well.

Aside from that, this was cool.

Thank you for your comment and pointing out the distortion issues.

I have listened to the vocal sound carefully several times using my headphones. When I used the headphone of the headset type, I could notice what you pointed out. When I used the high-grade headphone with reasonable input level, I could not notice it. With the higher input level, however, some distortion may start happening. From these results, I presume the voice might cause "high frequency distortion" or "soprano distortion" on some audio systems. Maybe I should have used some filtering or level control for the high frequency to avoid the issues.

Hiroshik,

Lovely music!
I agree that you are taking the use of Sinsy to a new level and the production is up to your usual high standard.
It would be nice to see a translation of the poetry ( I`m a bamboo fan).

I have found that my note includes the wrong information. I would like to correct it. The correction is shown in bold typeface.

"Ta-Ke" (Japanese word meaning Bamboo) is the first song I composed and produced by using BIAB a couple of years ago. Its lyrics is based on the Japanese famous poem "Ta-Ke" by Sakutarou Hagiwara, but I modified the parts that do not fit to the melody because of its irregularity. I uploaded it to Youtube with the video I made then (https://youtu.be/zkKkhWvkqtQ), and it has been played more than 1000 times which is my highest record so far. This time I remixed it and reproduced the new version. The female voice in the song was made by using "Sinsy vocal synthesizer and generator" integrated into BIAB.

Robert,

Thank you for your kind comment. I am glad you like the "Ta-Ke" song.

As for the English translation, I have found the web page that includes it (for the original poet, of course).

http://www.vianegativa.us/2008/12/bamboo-two-poems-by-hagiwara-sakutaro/

The following is the excerpt from it.

In the shining earth the bamboo grows,
the blue-green bamboo grows,
underground the roots of bamboo grow,
roots that gradually taper off
with fine hairs sprouting from their tips,
hazy fine hairs faintly growing,
faintly trembling.

In the adversarial earth the bamboo grows,
aboveground the sharp bamboo grows,
perfectly straight bamboo grows,
with its rigid joints going rin, rin,
at the base of the blue sky bamboo grows,
bamboo, bamboo, bamboo grows.

"The first verse of the poem describes the sensitivity or delicacy of the bamboos underground such as their thin roots and fine hairs, whereas the second verse describes the strength or dynamism of the bamboos over the ground."

We pondered that...delicacy supporting strength. Very nice thoughts.

It's all been said. You put together excellent productions that never disappoint in their sheer power and beauty.

We enjoyed it!

J&B,

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. First of all, I am glad you like my song and enjoyed it. As always, I was encouraged a lot.

As for the interpretation of the poem, it seems to be considered that it reflected the mental structure of Sakutarou (the author) himself. That being said, I think your interpretation makes some sense.

Yes, I think the Sinsy vocal (Yoko) suits this song very well.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
