since I don't find the right styles for the following song I need your suggestions. There is as well a style change after ~35 sec within the song. What is the best (easiest) way to do the change. Every answer is appreciated.
You can change tempo and select a different style at any bar modifying the F5 bar settings screen. Select the bar and press F5 on the computer keyboard.
Well it ain't gona be a country or pop style. And it ain't rock and roll or latin or New World. Its jazz! Pick a jazz trio as a start with the right tempo. Quick listen and I did not hear a lot of swing, so pick Ev. Get all the chords input and then start to set the arrangement. And by the way, how about sharing with us what you develop?
I'm not Brian (jazzman) but a hybrid style is simply building your own combination of RealTracks and saving it by its own name. Most of my original work is done that way. In other words, you do not have to accept the various combinations BIAB makes available to you as style names; try your own substitutions.

Use the word, BLANK as a search term in the StylePicker. It will return four BLANK styles. There are even and swing 3/4 time styles and even and swing 4/4 styles.
BLANK styles do not have instruments assigned to tracks. You can import midi patterns from other styles, select midi Supertracks or RealTracks for instruments.
BLANK styles are good starting points when creating your own styles.
Right. You can build up, using a Blank style, or load one that's close and make substitutions in individual tracks. Then save the style under a new name.

Hybrid Styles Dialog There’s a "Hybrid Styles" feature that allows you to play and create a MIDI style that has instruments from up to five different styles! You can, for example, play a song with a Reggae bass, Rock drums, Salsa piano, or any combination of up to five styles that you want. Create a name for your hybrid style and you can save it with the song so that it will play that way in the future.
Note: You can add MIDITracks individually (from any style) to play on any track of your current song. This is done from the right-click context menu for any track, or by clicking on the [MIDITracks] toolbar button.
To use the Hybrid styles feature, choose File | StyleMaker | Make a Hybrid style.
You’ll then see the Make a Hybrid style dialog.
Your hybrid style can be up to five instruments, each from a different style. For example, you can have a Latin drum part, with a Zydeco bass, and Jazz guitar part, and strings from a Classical style!
Select the instrument (e.g. Bass), and then select the source style to use for this instrument part in the new hybrid style by pressing the [.STY] button. Repeat the process for up to five instruments.
When you’re ready to generate the Style, press [OK- (Re) Generate style with nameà], and choose a name for your style. Remember that style names in Band-in-a-Box can be a maximum of eight characters, with no spaces! (This is to ensure compatibility with Mac and previous versions of Band-in-a-Box.)
Then the dialog exits and you are ready to hear your new style! Press Play in Band-in-a-Box and you can hear the results. If you want to make changes, revisit the Hybrid dialog, and make any changes.
Editing a Hybrid Style
You can edit a hybrid style just like any other style. Open the StyleMaker to view the patterns.

The same as Matt, most of my backings are done with Hybrid Styles as this gives you the ability to change one or more elements to give that individual outcome
In my opinion Hybrid Styles is one of the most important features
Initially it takes some time to be familiar with the styles you can choose from but once you get the hang of it you know pretty well where to go
Also you can have many variations say Hybrid 1 - 2 - 3 etc. by changing one or two instruments or rhythms
We have a very large selection of styles to select from and it feels great to put together an individual backing
Have fun

OK, looks like I'm doing something wrong. I've created a hybrid country style with tempo 75 for the first 8 bars and saved it as style01. Then at 9 bar I've created a swing style using tempo 140 and saved as style02. When I play the song it continues at bar 9 with the same tempo as in style01. Any idea how to fix this one?
No, I mean press F5 and change the tempo to 140 within that dialog box.
Then if your song goes back to the first style later, like in a repeat, press F5 at measure 1 (or wherever it repeats back to) and insert the tempo of 75 there.
Or maybe I'm not understanding your question...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
