I use BIAB when playing fiddle, guitar, and banjo. As a result, I have a separate directory for each instrument. Many of the tunes exist in all 3 directories. Having a "playlist" for each instrument and just a single BIAB file for each tune would be an advantage. It would make file maintenance easier, and would eliminate two of the large directories containing BIAB files. Playlist could contain -

1. Name of tune.
2. Tempo.
3. Style.

I use playlists when I access "The Amazing Slow Downer" software on my system, and it dramatically reduces the number of redundant files. And as I said, it everything more efficient.
