Hi: I am writing Cowgirl In The Sand In BIAB as a backing track. At the end of the verse the last two bars are written in as:
Bar 45 - C... D... Bar 46 C... D...
I have the drums, bass and guitar highlghted to play thru the entire song including these bars. All instruments play every bar and through Bar 45, but only the Drums will play in Bar 46.
I have read thru the manual and it seems to me that I am doing everything right. I hit the green button to regenerate the song after typing in the chords and no freeze buttons are on the bass or any other instrument.
If anyone has any suggestions, i would appreciate them..
How you enter the chords...with commas or not.... or an ENTER between them determines how they play.
In Bar 46 do you have CD or do you have C comma D or C / D with C being in the first half and D being in the second half of the measure? There are 3 different possible soundings of those chords in the question.
If you enter C,D it's different from entering CD. The second (CD) is actually telling it to ONLY PLAY THE DRUMS. I believe the display will show the large C with superscript D.
Remember to enter the C in the first half of the measure or use a COMMA between the C,D to place the chords C and D on the 1 and 2 of the measure..... or enter C then hit ENTER and type D to get the C to play on ONE and the D to play on three.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
Thank You Noel, Guitarhacker and Kent: I apologize for the slow response. I had to download Mozilla since I use Chrome. I made a jpeg file but I cannot find the radio button to upload the file in. Neither Chrome nor Mozilla appear to have it as either an icon or button. So I'm sort of stuck for the moment. Once i get the technical difficulties addressed, I'll up load the file.

The 'upload graphic' process doesn't use a button nor an icon. It's actually a link and it's necessary to switch to "Full reply screen" mode to access it. I wonder if this might have been the problem.
Have a look at the link below and follow the two graphics to see if that helps.
If you email me the song file itself, I should be able to figure this out pretty quickly. You've got Bar Settings changes on every bar, and bar 46 is hidden with a repeat, so there are lots of things that could be causing your issue.
Thanks Kent. What happens is that I lose all instruments except the drums on bar 46. Everything else is doing exactly what i asked it to do. So, if it is working on your system, perhaps I'm doing something or have some system feature which is causing this to occur. No idea what that could be. When i run BIAB, the only things i have going on are my Sapphire Interface. I do not use internet when programming a song or VST effects. So am at a bit of a loss.
Try opening the MGU/SGU file in Realband and see if the song generates and plays properly in that program.
Note... if you haven't used Realband before, it will take a little longer for the song to generate because RB does a complete song generation before playback starts. BIAB, on the other hand, begins playing without waiting for generation to complete and it continues generating in the background while the song is playing.
Add updated printing options, enhanced tracks settings, smoother use of MGU and SGU (BB files) within PowerTracks, and more with the latest PowerTracks Pro Audio 2024 update!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
