The vocals remind me of Tom Rapp and the more complex melody also gives me flickers of him too. Lovely stuff.

“we rolled up the clouds I lost some grey to the rain and dust our own patch of dirt in flints and flowers somewhere we dug up the boy and girl we were”
Robert, this is a stunningly beautiful write. Rich, rich imagery.
The band, your vocal and the production more than do justice to the write.
And the strings were a very special addition.
Lovely!

Gosh, this is a really beautiful song.
Great mix--perfect. Vocal sits perfectly. I can hear this on an album, easily.
Reminds me of Paul Simon.

Robert,
"Lovely" describes this in so many ways...
A lovely write, a lovely arrangement - perfect RT choices, A lovely vocal...
"in your bangles and petals I guess you heard B-side songs from a lonely room"
Nice.
(This once brought to mind Murray McLauchlan)
fj I agree with all that!! Except I don't know who Murray McLauchlan is. This is so well done in every way. One of my faves of yours for sure!! Take care. Greg Everything Greg and Floyd said. There simply aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe the gentle beauty of this song. And wow - what gorgeous vocal! If beauty didn't already have a definition, this would be the perfect way to describe it. Alan Alan, You made my day with that - very kind, sir! This is the first time I`ve used the Reaper tuning feature to smooth some notes in the vocals;it surprised me how well it worked. Robert Such a beautiful song Robert. Just love your folk songs. Such a lovely lyric. Well done... Thanks,Scott - I wrote this while recovering from our last heavy song! Robert Nice write and vocals.
I liked this and enjoyed it. Thanks for your listen. Robert this is sooo pretty. Poetic and earthy - real heart tugger with the vocal and arrangement. Josie, Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for your positive comments. Robert

Robert, you have a powerful talent for visual imagery.
from a tower of clouds you can calculate openings in the sky `til someone dances through your design springtime in her eye
Wonderful. Thank you! Beautiful song Robert, such a top notch vocal to go with the music and lyrics!! I appreciate that. My vocal processing has become just a bit more subtle which helps on a tune like this. Robert

Thank you for that - will have to check out Tom Rapp`s solo songs ( I remember Pearls Before Swine from way back). “we rolled up the clouds I lost some grey to the rain and dust our own patch of dirt in flints and flowers somewhere we dug up the boy and girl we were”

J&B, That last verse is really there cos it would have meaning for my wife ( the song initially had only 3 verses). Your listens and supportive comments are most appreciated. Robert

David, Thanks for that. Paul Simon`s early romantic songs are a big favourite of mine. Robert Wow - this is stunning The whole tune sounds so velvety and delicate. Hello, Robert
Very beautiful. Your vocal perfectly fits this tune. It is very nice and very natural to use the ordinary chord progression of D-Bm-G-A7, but using them shifting their bar lengths slightly. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
