It is a style I wish I took the time to learn. Nevertheless, I enjoy more watching others do it far better than I ever could try! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hey, speaking of picking styles, when you get a chance check out a guy named, Doyle Dykes. He uses a banjo style roll while his playing hand would be inverting chords much the way they would be played on the piano. I talked with him about that, and he told me he got his inspiration for the chordal phrasings from his brother who happens to be a pianist.

Thank you Rick! That is great to hear and kind to say! It really is not a 'hard' style, just a specific style that ANYBODY can grasp. After 15 years I still hunt and peck on the keyboard (plus I have dyslexia). My wife tells me that I would be so much more proficient if I took the time to learn to place my hands correctly and use the correct fingerings etc. I still resist. LOL. This technique is exactly the same. Still plugging away with all of my learning tools. After months of gigging/recording (which refines what we have learned so far) I am back to daily study again and expand. Its exciting.

Doyle Dykes. Exciting player! I saw him play at the NAMM show years ago at the Taylor booth. Smokin! Thanks again. Cheers.
