Look, ma -- no MIDI!RealDrums Set 4 features a variety of style groups, including Country (CountryTrain and CountryTrain8), Grunge, Jazz (JazzShuffle), Pop (pop 12/8, PopBouncy), and Rock (RockHardEven8 and RockShuffle). It also includes the first of the Percussion styles - BossaRock (Drum kit-only), BossaRockFull (Drum Kit+Percussion), and BossaRockPerc (Percussion-only)

But there's more! We've created many unique variations for each of the RealDrums styles. For example, for BossaRockPerc, you could have Percussion playing in the A section and Sticks playing in the B section, or choose another variation and have Congas in A and Brushes in B! RealDrums Set 4 contains over 50 variations in total! And, because each style was recorded at multiple tempos, you always know you're going to get the right playing for the job!

RealDrums Set 1 is included in the Pro version of Band-in-a-Box and the basic PowerTracks Pro Audio package. RealDrums Sets 1-3 are included with the PowerTracks Pro Audio PowerPAK. RealDrums Sets 1-6 are included with the Band-in-a-Box MegaPAK. RealDrums Sets 1-20 are included with the Band-in-a-Box UltraPAK, and with the PowerTracks Pro Audio PowerPAK Plus or MultiPAK. ALL of the RealDrums Sets 1-26 are included in the UltraPlusPAK pacakges.

What are RealDrums?

These are audio drum styles that replace the MIDI Drum track with actual recordings of top studio Jazz/Rock/Country drummers! These are not "samples" of single drum hits; they are full recordings, lasting from 1 to 8 bars, playing along in perfect sync with the other Band-in-a-Box, RealBand, and PowerTracks Pro Audio tracks.

For example, choose a brushes style and you will now hear lush Jazz brushes, exactly as you'd hear if the drummer was in the room with you. The results are dramatically better than MIDI. They sound like a real drummer, because they are recordings of a real drummer. And adding a real instrument to the mix makes all of the Band-in-a-Box parts sound more authentic. In PowerTracks, add a RealDrums track to an old recording, and it will play in perfect sync with the original file.

As well as improved drum sounds, you are hearing the exact rhythms played by the drummer, including features not seen in MIDI (subtle drum rolls, variations in ride cymbal taps, complex fills, etc.). A "RealDrums" dialog allows you to set whether you want to hear RealDrums with all styles, no styles, or somewhere in between.

BossaRock

The BossaRock RealDrums group features cool Bossa playing with an edge! There are 8 different variations with drums only, as well as BossaRockFull which has 8 variations of the drumkit playing along with a full percussion ensemble! BossaRockPerc contains 9 variations that are percussion-only and percussion-only for the A section with the full kit joining in for the B section. Here is a sample of some of those variations:

The CountryTrain RealDrums group features a fast Train groove on the snare drum, using brushes for the 'A' section and sticks for the 'B' section. It has been designed so that it will work with both 8th-note and 16-note based Band-in-a-Box styles.

Grunge

The Grunge RealDrums group features hard, edgy 90's-style playing! There are 5 different variations of differing intensity, so you can always find the right part for your song. Here are a sample of some of those variations:
