Demo from
RealTracks 17
This demo features all 4 soloists in RealTracks Set 17 taking turns soloing! All three rhythm section instruments from RealTracks Set 16 (bass, piano and guitar) make up the backing band. The song begins with an alto sax solo while the piano comps. For the second chorus, the Trombone takes over the soloing duties and the guitar takes over the comping duties. At the third chorus, the bass takes a solo, backed up by the piano, and the drums quiet down to let the bass shine. For the fourth and final chorus, the rhythm section really kicks in, and Trumpet solo takes us home.

Classic Puerto Rican Seis Slow with Trombone RealTracks. The Puerto Rican Seis (even 8ths) incorporated the Cuban bongos with the Puerto Rican guícharo scraper. This classic style is an example of the music heard at Christmastime, with joyful lyrics and much flowery playing on the 10-stringed Puerto Rican cuatro guitar, which is vigorously played with a pick, much like a mandolin. The Trombone has been stretched up to 180bpm from the original tempo of 140bpm.

Classic Cuban Son with Trombone RealTracks. The Cuban Son is literally the "grandfather of Salsa." It is in the son where the syncopated bass pattern emerged in Cuban dance music, and all of the music is centered around the clave beat.

Traditional Cuban Cha Cha with Trumpet RealTracks. Also uses SalsaChaCha RealDrums. The Cuban cha-cha-chá is simple and tasty, and demonstrates the traditional charanga approach to the rhythm with the smaller cha bell playing a quarter-note pulse pattern. The piano pattern in cha-cha-chá is very traditional, featuring a syncopated left-hand with a right-hand part on beats 1 and 3. The Bass plays pushes into beat 3 and often into beat 1. The Piano and Nylon Guitar comp with an off-beat 8th note rhythm.

Even 8 Salsa Son-Montuno with Trumpet RealTracks. The Trumpet has been stretched up to 165bpm from the original tempo of 140bpm. The Cuban Son-Montuno "cut to the chase" in that the traditional Son style emphasized the verses, while the Son-Montuno emphasized the call-and-response portion of the song, known as the Montuno. It is during this section that the lead vocalist improvises, alternating with a fixed, choral response; this is the primary African influence in Afro-Cuban music, and the essential ingredient in Salsa music. The piano patterns became standard practice in Salsa and Latin jazz playing.

Medium straight-8ths Southern Gospel (Country) style with Trumpet RealTracks. Also features Acoustic Strumming Guitar RealTracks and RockEven8 RealDrums. Bass and piano are MIDI.
