Critiique H2 recording from Kawai acoustic piano
      #238573 - 09/19/09 04:18 PM
Okay, guys. Thanks for your input on the other thread.

I've created a webpage with the 3 files on it now, for your input/feedback/critique.

I'll re-record in a day or two with H2 mic off the piano and on a boom mic stand, and I'll open the top of the piano.

Thanks for telling me what you think............... something I never like to hear from my wife!

Ray , I liked the third test the best. Hard to tell what direction to recommend since I don't know what sound you are looking for. Just for grins, you might want to try a digital keyboard that has several different pianos as a comparison to what you are looking for. I'm very impressed on how well the H2 does record. Thanks for posting the webpage, Wyndham

Thanks, Wyndham. Normally in all my recording i use a keyboard and record directly to my PC. But with my Kawai and the H2 I just wanted to see what kind of sound I could get captured onto a recording. I enjoy using keyboards when I have other instruments in the mix, but I like using a fully 88 keys acoustic when I really wanna produce a piano solo sound.

That H2 has amazed me. I'm delighted I bought it now, but so far I had only been using it as a USB mic. Now it appears to have great potential to record away from the PC...... even with batteries and capture sounds that otherwise I would have had to pass up. It's a good little device---that H2!

Thanks, man!
