"Last Chorus” and “Chorus count” indicator
      #280131 - 06/28/10 02:33 PM
it would be REALLY useful when using BIAB in a live situation if there were a visual indicator of which chorus is being played currently. this would allow us to be prepared for finishing solos and playing the ending correctly. A strong visual indicator such as flashing the screen or displaying a different color for the arranger would help. Its easy to forget when to play the “HEAD” when one is blowing on loads of choruses.

Also some way of dividing “solo” choruses into several sections and giving a strong indication visually of when its the “next guys” turn to solo. might help.

this is because unlike in a real jam session or performance where one can just keep repeating choruses, BIAB had a fixed nr of choruses - hence solos available, and when jamming with friends it would help to be “prompted” by BIAB when to pass the solo “BATON” to the next player.

The chorus counter is below and to the right of the song title, after the bar numbers.

BIAB seems to allow a chorus and a bridge.

Does it allow a verse, chorus and bridge?

I know I can build verse and chorus together and call it a chorus or do in parts, but would be good to do a song format
AABABCB

You know the kind of thing 2 verses, chorus, another verse, chorus, bridge and final chorus

Am i tlkaing crap?

Nope. Thats just the number of choruses set to play for the song. I need to know which of those N choruses is actually playing. ie a running indicator.

Could this be something thats in the windowas version but not on Mac ( im currently running the latest Macos version of BIAB )

That's what the Win version does, shows you which chorus is playing. Later, Ray

I don't have the Mac version, but in the Windows version, the box where you set the number of choruses will display which chorus you are on while the song is playing. When you first set the number of choruses, it will just say, for example, "3". But once you hit play, it will change to display "1/3", "2/3", or "3/3", depending on which chorus you are on. Does the Mac version do this differently?

Yes, the Mac version is different. The number of chorus doesn't become dynamic once the song starts like it does in the Windows version.

There are also no repeat signs displayed. All "staves" are four measures long; there is no way to drop a measure to the next line like in the Windows version, which makes reading the song difficult if its phrases are not multiples of four.

I really did not understand this request until it became clear it is a Mac-only request.

Since it is too late to edit the thread title, I wonder if it might be helpful to start a new thread, put" Mac version only" in the subject, and reference this thread. Then perhaps PG Music might be more likely to notice.
