Hi, I'm using BIB 2011 under Win7 32 bit.
I am trying to take an old Doo Wop song, "What's Your Name", and import it using the Audio Chord Wizard.
The song starts out with a pickup on the 4th beat and then it begins the song. Everything works fine except when I send it to BIB it does not contain the pickup. The song starts on the downbeat.
I have used this in the past with few problems what am I doing wrong.
TIA

Did you manually set the bar one, right? Could you give a link to the actual song, to see if we can replicate the problem?
Yes, I manually set Bar-1 and then I set the sections as I play the song and adjust where the tempo strays. I might add that at Bar-1 there is a red section marker but the pickup that occurs before Bar-1 does not have a chord or a marker.
I am not sure how to set a link, is it possible to upload or attach a file to a post.
when you exit the ACW you get a message that goes something like "The first bar is not the same size as the other bars..." then you get several options regarding how to address the difference.
Try picking different options when you exit ACW to see if that makes a difference. Several of us have noticed that the option you pick can affect a variety of things, including whether the whole song makes it back to the main track view.
Keep us posted
Why not just add another bar at the beginning and have the repeat start on the 2nd bar?
I hope this works. The song is called, "What's Your Name" and it is by Don & Juan.
I will continue to try other options as well...

Ok, I have tried everything I know to try and w/o any luck.
I have started with a .wav file and then a .mp3 file no luck.
The very first thing I do is play the song and set bar one.
I then depict the different sections and adjust the tempo as needed.
It does not bring over the one beat pickup.
I have tried to add a barline on the pickup note and then it will pick it up however the measures are off.
The bar with the pickup has no chords and is depicted as bar 0.
On some of my other songs there is a bar (-1), but I am not sure if that has any meaning.
Within ACW I don't think I can add a bar to the beginning, remember this is an import of a song.
Also, I tried to make bar (0) a bar (-1) but I couldn't do it.
I mean it is not the end of the world but I like these things to work and also I learn as I go.
Thank you for all your help..
Like Pat, I've just opened the song in ACW (BIAB 2012) without problems; I just manually set bar 1, and the rest was automatically synced. When I sent the song to BIAB, I received no "THE FIRST BAR IS SMALLER..." message. After correcting a few chords (BIAB did an excelent job here too), I pressed play, and nothing was missing in the song.
If you want, I can send you the files via email; this way, if my file is working for you, you'll know that you're doing something wrong; if not, you'll be sure that there's something wrong with your setup).
Yes, you are exactly right.
When I send the song back to BIB, I do not receive a message.
The ACW Utilities Window opens where I:
Set the song key.
Make a tempo map in BiB.
Erase audio file.
I wonder if I have an option set or not set that generates that message.
I will do a little more research.
Thank you...
Thank you I would like to receive the song attached in an email.

When I open the song in ACW, my first bar is (0) not (-1).
Could this be what is defining the pickup b/4 bar 1?
Ok, I think I solved the problem.
My problem of ACW not bringing over the one beat pickup note is not a problem with ACW.
I had a Preference set to "Count-in / Allow Lead-in bars" set to no.
As soon as I changed it, the song played the intro correctly.
Thank you one and all for your help and especially to Sergio for sending me his files.
thanks for letting us know what worked. Things like this have a way of showing up again, and now there's a searchable record of the solution.
I'm glad you solved your problem.
