Great Job PG Music on capturing the phrasing, articulations, and even the sound of Pat Martino on Guitar! Someone or Several People should get a raise for this! Its hard to believe how realistic it is. Sure maybe a few too many double stops but after all Pat does use those a lot.

The single lines, both the notes and phrasing are very authentic. Maybe all the real Tracks are like this and Im just not familiar with the players enough like I am with Pat Martino.

I suspect something new was done? because I have a lot of Oliver Gannons recordings and his Real Tracks dont sound as authentic as Pats do..........

I wonder if any of you "mad scientists" could take a lot of Joe Pass recordings(or anyones) and/or record some one that can play a lot like him and replicate his playing like you have Pat Martinos! They could be called ALMOST REAL TRACKS!

These Pat Martino Real Tracks can save a guitarist or anyone a lot of time. Rather than Transcribe They can select a song and then have the Pat Martino Real Track Solo to it and have it all tabbed out for them!

Not quite the same as transcribing an actual sol but still extremely beneficial!

Fantastic Job PG Music, keep up the great work!

Yes indeed, those of us who are familiar with Mr. Martio's signature sound and approach appreciate the Pat Martino Realtracks, alright.

We can now also have Ray Brown on Bass with it, too...

Good stuff.

I don't find problems with Oliver's playing, though. The more different player's styles and approaches we have, the better. And Oliver Gannon can PLAY, man. But rather than "just" have Oliver's own style of playing, we get Oliver doing tracks that pay tribute to quite a few different players, types of playing, etc. covering at least several eras of the music, I'm sure there are plenty of users interested in those forms of jazz playing as well and it is good to have such available.

Hey Mac,

Yes I agree.......I hope I didnt give the wrong impression, I have ALL of Oliver's instructional material and I use his Free COMP RT a lot for learning purposes...........

He studied/transcribed a lot of Barney Kessell from what I understand.........one of my favorites (Im a guitarist)

I didnt realize his Real Tracks were covering different elements aside from only his actual playing. Thanks for the Clarification.

Any thoughts on my Almost Real Tracks Idea?

But that's because Mr. Brown likes guitar players (and piano players, and sax players, and (yuck) singers, and even trumpet players...)

"Some of My Best Friends Are Guitarists" (great album BTW)

I'm assuming these will be included in the Mac version. Usually it's just software features that don't make it to Mac--I hope that's never been the case with any of the audio tracks.
I downloaded the Pat Martino Realtracks this weekend and really like the results. Does anyone know if there is a way to simplify the solos? I love the fact that BIAB produces notation/tabs of the solos but some of them are quite advanced (lots of 16th note runs). I'd love to be able to limit (simplify) the solos to just 8th notes. Thanks. -- Joe --
Hi,

Just saw this article with Pat Martino Real Tracks!
Check the authentic solos transcribed for Band in a Box and with Audio Stems.'
Pat Martino for Band in a Box

To simplify the solo as long as the solo is generated by the Soloist, you have to go to the Soloist>Generate and Play A Solo and from this menu you have many options, even to generate a "Solo near the Melody". 2014 Musical Art. Intel. without the Prompts!

Thanks MM. I'd like to get a grip on this if possible.
I downloaded the PM file and played Days of Wine.
First is that actual Pat Martino playing and the audio of his playing is inside BIAB, or did someone else play the solo and record it into BIAB?

So far I haven't been able to figure out how to see the solo that is playing.
If it's possible could you please tell me how to see it?

I'd also like to get a handle on the Sugar tune.
I see the Guitar, Bass and Drum tracks but they don't seem be really be accessible.
I can solo the Guitar track. If I try to solo the Bass or Drum track the volume levels go way way down.
Muting of any part isn't very effective. For example if I try to mute the guitar, its volume just drops a touch but it's still clearly audible. Same for the other tracks.

So I couldn't use this as BIAB play-along tracks.
OK I'm listening now to Wes and I think I understand what's going on now.
I didn't realize this was possible, but it seems you can import .wav audio files into BIAB.
So you can take any commercial recording, import it into BIAB on its own track, and then
input the chords to the song, synced up to the temp of the audio.

So you can watch the chords go by as the music is playing.
I guess this could be useful to some people.

And you can also create your own tracks to input the solo and watch that notation too as the audio is playing.
Hi BBman,

Please watch the videos to have a glimpse of the abilities of DiaB & BiaB.

So we have the Notes/Tab/Fretboard synced with the Real Audio and the Chords and the lyrics also,
fully editable!

The latest six Transcriptions includes the Audio Stems also!

Kenny Burrell
Pat Metheny
Pat Martino
John Scofield
Allan Holdsworth
Jimi Hendrix (Jimi was the first Stems Transcriptions)

So now from the Mixer you can choose if you want to hear the Bass or the Drums or the Guitars & Piano/Synth Track,
so actually you can Jam with the Real Musicians by muting the lead instrument,
or hear the nuances of each real musician instrument in Solo mode from the Mixer.

Of course all the BiaB Real Tracks are available too and all the amazing abilities of BiaB!

Warm Regards.'

Thanks S.P. I would like to get a better understanding of what DiaB's capabilities are.
At one point in the Metheny video you isolated the Metheny guitar part and greatly reduced the bass and drum
part from his trio.

The million dollar question. Are you able to isolate Pat's bass and drums (not BIAB's) and greatly reduce his guitar part, so it is barely audible?

Thanks.
Hi,

Yes you can isolate bass and drums completely!
