thanks.

It has been asked for many times in the wishlist.

You can use midi userstracks with this Instant Traks Creator all in one script, it will also do Shots n Holds.

Technically, since a UserTrack is an audio file, the midi would have to be converted to audio first. However, UserTracks mimic RealTracks which mimic many of the characteristics of a midi patch. So, characteristically, there should not be much benefit to all the work needed to make a midi into a UserTrack unless there's specific purpose for a particular midi patch. How good a midi based UserTrack will both function and sound will depend a lot on the specific midi patch instrument. There were quite a few UserTracks made from midi after UserTracks were first released and to create one requires replacing a actual instrument with a midi version and go through the UserTrack template using the midi instrument and saving the audio result as a UserTrack in the UserTrack folder.

For a specific purpose audio file, PG Music developers created the Artist Performance File which is how BIAB handles specific purpose audio files within a project. Other midi options are to create custom styles from existing styles or midi files.

7. Artist Performance Files.

These are audio files, that you put on a track, that can also have the MIDI transcription of it. People hear the audio, and see the MIDI in notation/guitar tab etc. For example, if you are a great bluegrass fiddle player, you could put your songs in this format. People can listen to your real playing, see the notes on screen, slow them down etc. - all inside Band-in-a-Box where they can do other things like solo/mute other tracks, mix them etc.

If you just put the midi track into Reaper and set the regions:
Red will fit any chord match in any color part, pink is leadin or countin notes, endings are 4 bars etc..
If it is just a chorded track you can put all the midi onto one track, if it's a scale track have separate tracks for each key and just have scale/Scale in the name, if it's a drum track have drum/Drum in the name, these will just match the color to color sections.
Save the regions as csv the same name as the midi usertrack.
Piano, Upright, Rhythm Pop 01 Ev 4-4 80bpm.csv
Piano, Upright, Rhythm Pop 01 Ev 4-4 80bpm.mid
or with key name
Piano, Upright, Solo Pop 01 Ev 4-4 80bpm Scale A# Major.csv
Piano, Upright, Solo Pop 01 Ev 4-4 80bpm Scale A# Major.mid

Chord sections, the blue & green are fills

4 Bar Endings for verse and chorus

All fitted to song chords
