Hi.

Don't know if this has been covered somewhere but if you are having trouble with this: check that the VST channel is set correctly for the instrument track. The instrument channels are not sequential.

To check which channel belongs to which instrument track (Bass, Piano, Drums etc.), choose:

Prefs ==> Channels and then you can see which output channel to use. I think you can reassign the channels there as well but probably better to match the VST to the track not the other way around as there may be unintended consequences e.g., drums should remain on track 10.

E.g. Guitar is set to channel 7 so in your VST Synth's setting use channel 7 to sound the midi notes on the guitar track.

Happy music making.

Michael,
good information. It seems that a lot of people are getting bogged down in this with their newly acquired soft synth.

On a different note, I just went to your music page and listened to your songs. Very nice.
Cheers Pat - many thanks for the feedback.

I struggled myself with this one for a while and there was something at the back of my mind about where I had seen the channel allocations for the Bass, Strings, Guitar etc.

I'm just experimenting with styles. Now that I can assign soundfonts through a soundfont playing vst that I have, I am trying to get a Medieval style with a slow lute and other early instruments. I also have Garritan Personal Orchestra so my focus has now shifted back from RB to BAIB. This new feature for assigning vsts saves so much time for me over using midi and then opening in RB to assign the instruments.

Regards.
Mike.
