I spoke with Don’s son in law today. He let me know that our good friend has suffered another stroke. This one has left him unable to communicate and also unable to eat. Don has been a friend to many here and around the world. He has always been a positive, kind and joyful person. He has fought a long battle with his health and despite being in a nursing home for many years he has touched many peoples lives in a positive way. Tonight I send my love and prayers to Don and especially his dear family, as they care for him during this difficult time.

Regards, Rob Helms.

Thanks Rob for passing that information on. Yes, Don is a very popular member here and his musical history and technical skills are legendary. Definitely hoping that a recovery path will happen.

This is heartbreaking news.

But I thank you Rob for informing us.

Don is one of the most influential people that I've ever come in contact with, though I've never met him in person.

I'm praying for Don and his family. May he be without pain.

What an exemplary man!

Don has been on my mind, and this news caught me off guard for sure. His positive, caring, thoughtful, and funny personality is something you don't see in many people - I have always admired Don for his approach to life.

We've all laughed at his jokes, watched his videos, listened to his music, and grown very fond of Don over the years. I'm confident that he feels loved by all of his friends here at PG (whether it's staff or our awesome forum community).

Don reported that he went on Hospice back in May of 2021, he must be one tough character. But, as recently mentioned here in the forum, none of us are going to get out alive. Prayers for both him and his family.
