Hi my forum friends!
Sorry I haven't been around. I had another stroke a couple of weeks ago..........discharged from hospital at the weekend. Unfortunately I had to miss my appearance at the Edinburgh International Jazz Fest because of it.....I'll have to relearn on guitar & banjo......but not as badly as the last occasion. ***** I had been working on "April Kisses" by Eddie Lang for over a year, as I was intending to surprise the guys at the Banjo Fest, by including a Guitar Solo!
I'll obviously be around the forums much more now, as I work on my rehab.
Regards to all my friends, Joe G.

Joe,
sorry to hear about your health issues, but I'm very glad you are able to keep us informed. Also very glad to see such a positive attitude and immediate effort to rehabilitate yourself! You are an inspiration to me!
Joe,
Take it easy, I too know the effects of a stroke as I had a mini one some time ago which was then reduced to a transient ischaemiac attack (TIA)caused by stress, on examination in hospital and was warned then that I was a candidate for a proper stroke. I had to "have the incident" at the weekend to get seen then.
I collapsed in town yesterday and was taken to my Doc but she showed little concern saying that "it was all in the mind" even tho' my BP has been a little high (max 180/90) and my left arm cold since my TIA. I have also had no record-able pulse or BP in that arm for 6 years following a bypass graft but then that was initially described as due "to the way I sat" by a few local doctors and so lead to my 1st "incident at a weekend" in order to get seen by a cardiologist.
I am glad for you that the Scottish NHS is better than the welsh version but then I am in
Abertawe Bro Morgannwg and was at the meeting in the article but that didn't help my BP
I think I may "have yet another incident" at the weekend to get seen in hospital or I may go to a Vet to see if I can get treatment, too old to worry about being neutered LOL!
Meanwhile I take a dose of BIAB 3 times a day and that helps
Alyn
Hi, Joe & Alyn !
I hope you are all on the
path of recovery ! I had
an anaeurysm ( a balloon vessel)
that exploded in my brain 2010 !
I was hospitalized for 4 weeks
but came out of the ordeal with
only the loss of my sense of smell !
I consider myself very lucky !
I am still wondering wheather it
was an inherited one or not.
May be good for you to scan
the brains for eliminating any
risks of that kind ?
You, two, please get better both
of you !
Cheers
Dani
Thanks Alyn! May we both get on the road to recovery soon.Regards, Joe G.
Hi Dani. Thanks so much for you good wishes! You kmow from experience what the effects can be. At least, this stroke is nowhere nearly as bad as the last one......I can still play, a bit, and I know, that that will improve! Regards, Joe G.
Here hoping for a speedy recovery Joe.
I like the new Martin guitar of yours on your website.
For anyone else Joe has been quite a star in Scotland and Uk.
Just google Sally Logan and Joe Gordon on youtube.
Was up there with the best of them it seems, and no doubt will be again soon.
All the best Joe.
Musiclover
Thanks musiclover for your kind comments and good wishes!
I've already started on my music/physio rehab.
This is a bad time.....I had to cancel the Edinburgh International Jazz Fest this month......I've been a regular for 13 years!........Never mind.....there will be next year I hope!
Regards, Joe G.
Hey Joe.
You take care, now. Good to see you on the road to recovery. It's good to see you back on the forum.
All the best, ROG.
Joe, as a fellow stoke victim, survivor and your friend, keep your cholesterol under control. The Staten family of drugs nearly killed me.
Hopefully, you'll have a complete recovery.
All the best, Joe.
Hello Don my friend! Good to hear from you!
They are reviewing all my meds. But my cholesterol has been well under control for a couple of years.....and I have been exercising & fast walking for the last two years!
We'll see what the docs say.
Take care my friend. Regards, Joe G.
Thanks Bob............I hope that the "commission demand" is NOT in the post! Take care my friend. Regards, Joe G.
Hi Pat, I just realised that I hadn't replied to you! Sorry!
I have started my rehab, can play a little already.........as I have been through this before,......... hopefully this time will be easier. Thanks for you concern Pat!
Regardfs, Joe G.
