while researching song parodies and wondered if you have a favorite song parodies

Hmmm, there's a lot of funny ones - off the top of my head, I'd say Eat It - Weird Al's version of MJ's Beat It.

There is (was?) a fantastic British band called the Barron Knights (a parody on barren nights) who did great parodies.
Some examples
(Rivers of Babylon) There's a dentist in Birmingham, he fixed my crown.

(Space Oddity) Birth control to ginger tom.

I saw them live a couple of times way back in the late 1960's and early 1970's

I love Da Vinci's Notebook a cappella take on the misheard lyric with Secret Asian Man.

LOL! That was too funny John. And great a cappella too.

I enjoyed the music of "The Rutles", they certainly captured the sounds and stylings of "The Beatles". And some hilarious humour.
