All Night Tears

Good to be back after a very long illness.

I put this together back in November - a couple days work (maybe 7 or 8 hours total), It's a strong and powerful guitar blues, somewhat in the style of Gary Moore. The snare hit is poretty strong in the mix. I backed it off a bit, but when I did, I lost some of the "attitude" of the song, So I put it back. I like it better being a little strong.

Any comments and/or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance - hope you might like it a little.

Hope 2023 treats all of you with best of everything.

That's cool Al - definitely has a Moore vibe to it.
Glad to hear you're back in the game.

HI Ray. I've been a Gary Moore fan since the first time I heard "Still Got The Blues". Tghe man could pack a lot of emotion in tyo 3 or 4 m inutes. Always liked his tyone, too. I massaged the lead guitar on this with the five-band equalizer several times before gettiung the sound I wanted.

Glad you liked itg - much appreciated. Thanks for letgting me know. Best to ya, mate!

Alan...I definitely love the style of this....it has some muscle to it and yet a real sultry feel...bluesy-rock ballad for sure...would be a cool soundtrack to the right video material...very cool arrangement of the solo guitar...and I love the slow, slow fade out of the music at the end (too many folks cut the tails off too early)...glad your back and hope you feel well...crank'em up and let's hear some more!

Your song definitely has a great Gary Moore vibe to it, and since I love Gary Moore, I love your song too, simple as that.

Hi Dan ...

Many thanks for all that kindness. Ity's also one of my fasvorite styles. but I do sometyimes find it a bit of a c hallenge to not make thenm all sound too similar. A soundtrack additgion - that would be very cool! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me know! Wishing you well ...

I've missed so much excellent music over the past few weeks. Glad this works for you. Gotta love the Blues!

Glad to hear you're back in the saddle.
A great use of BiaB and I too like Gary Moore's style a lot, I could almost hear his vocals in your song.

Great job.

Oh, yeah, Alan, this song has a TON of attitude. Man, I love this style of guitar, and you gave it a wonderful bed to lay down that magic. All Night Tears is a terrific name for this.

Hi Alan,

Didn't know you had serious health problems. I hope you are ok now?
Your song definitly is! What a great sounding song you made. Very catchy, especially the solo.
You are getting close to Gary now (let's forget for a moment you weren't playing the guitar...)

Enjoyed it all and glad you are back. I missed you and your comments!
And best wishes to Di,

Hi Bass Thumper ...

Many thanks! I wish I had even half of hus vocal chops - just enough rasp with solid undertones. And his voice didn't thin in the higher registers.

I appreciate the really nice comments. Take care ...

Hi Marty ...

Thank ya! I like this style of Blues, also. The lead melody isn't overly busy, but carries just the right punch to get it from measure to the next with a full sound. Thart was my goal with this one. I think I might have comer close to succeding. Glad you enjoyed the song and the attitude.

Best to you ...

HI Tom ...

I agree. I think if the drums are produced correctly, they can set more up front and give many songs a nice edge without being overbearing. As far as achieving the Gary Moore sound, the hardest part was getting the delay right. His delays were short but very conspicuous. They didn't trail very long - one measure didn't appreciably intrude on the next.

Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for letting me know.

Best to you ...

Hi Alan,

Good song and mix.

No - the lead guitar is the perfect volume in this mix.

Gary Moore would have been +2Db

I was waiting for the powerhouse vocals.

Best Regards

Hi Nigel ...

Thank you very much! Uh ... you wouldn't hang around long if I attempted a powerhouse vocal. You would would think a cement mixer was stripping it's gears! But if I had even a smidgeon of your vocal abilities, I'd never quit singing.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Alan

You wrote a really good song.
The guitar solo by BiaB is excellent.
Especially because it plays so long.
Is sometimes a problem with Biab
But in your song it sounds great !!!

But I think you were right to make it tight.

The drums sit right for me. You made the right choice in returning them to what you had.

This has a strong cinematic feel, and soars and glides along nicely.

Alan,
Glad you are on your feet!
This is a VERY good tune. So much power. The guitar work is perfect. Loved it!
Mix is great, but I do hear some kind of phasing effect on the drums. Might be just me hallucinating.
Mood is just right. Amazing effort! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Tom ...

For me, drums and bass can make or break a song. Bass has drive and drums have attitude. The tone was most the way PG Music recorded it - did did only a slight amount of tone adjustment. But i did work with the delay for quite some time. I adjusted it pretty wet but short in duration.

Thanks so much! Best to you!

Hi Misha ...

Hope you enjoyed your trip back to the homeland - it's very pretty country! Thank you so much for being so kind to my song! The only adjustment I made to the drums was a little extra mid-mid and low-mid on the 5-band equalizer (the indigenous BIAB VSTs). Glad yoyu liked it! Best to you ...
