Little White Flowers

Little white flowers, on the hillside
Little white flowers they won’t last
They’ll disappear, just like you did, darlin’
Little white flowers they won’t last

Everything has a season
Why should love be any different
Don’t go looking for a reason
Nothing lasts forever, no, no, no

Little white flowers, she wore them in her hair
Big brown eyes were open wide
Little white lies, how they multiply
In the end there’s nowhere left to hide

Everything has a season
Why should love be any different
Don’t go looking for a reason
Nothing lasts forever, no, no, no

Little black dress, high heels and diamond earrings
Still got that picture in my mind
Such a mess, don’t see how to mend it
Wish I could hit stop and rewind

Everything has a season
Nothing stays the same
May as well try to stop the winter
From coming ‘round again, wo-oo-oo

Little white flowers, on the hillside
Little white flowers they won’t last
Disappear, like breath upon a window
Little white flowers they won’t last
Peter, Leon & Janice,

This song is a gem. I absolutely love the song and vocals by Leon and Janice. Really exquisite...

Great guitar fills & solo and the production is perfect.

Such an awesome piece of work.

Bob
A very nice song and a great collab.
There's no banjo listed but I think I hear one and really like it whatever it is.
Peter and all:

Cool folksy bluegrass type song. Really like the lyrics here and Janice’s vocals give the chorus the perfect pop it needs. Catchy as well. Like the use of the accordion here—nice touch. Well done, all!

Kind regards,

Deej

Sweet song. Leon and Janice sound nice together.
Lovely lyric, gentle sound.
Sweetly done.

Vic
Oh, man. You know how you can read the album jacket and know right away that you're gonna love what's in it? You, Janice and Leon. Seriously super sounds. I really like the slide. Super write and feel, and those harmonies are so aurally satisfying and tight. Excellent choice on bringing in the second drum track. Suc a treat from start to finish. Well done, Peter, Leon, Janice and Bud.

Thanks and yes the banjo was a late addition.

Peter
When Leon, Peter, Janice, and Bud get together I know that I am about to hear some fantastic ear candy.

A real catchy hook.
The perfect vocal, harmony, and lead guitar.
The backing band and mix was perfect.
Loved it.
Janice fits with Leon REALLY well. A touch of sweetner to his slight alkaline tonality.
Very cool song and a wonderful mix.

Thanks Deej - Janice always give a song a lift.

Peter
Beautiful song Peter!

The whole production is gorgeous.
Very creative hook using a tender, short-lived flower as an analogy to love. The lead vocals and melody fit the mood very well. Great job, as usual, by Janice! Also, the guitar hook made the song that much more interesting. Great collaboration.

Dewey

Appreciate the comments Vic

Peter
Very nice old style folky tune, I can picture a small band playing in an old pub somewhere in northern Britain.
The story is melancholic, touching, I really like the inevitable fact of "Everything has a season/Why should love be any different"
I enjoyed Leon's singing with nice vibrato and Janice complements Leon's voice perfectly.
Fine selection of instruments and Peter's fills are catchy.

I love your song, even if there is a banjo in it laugh
The icing are the vocal harmonies, they are really great!
Well done by all involved.

Thanks to everybody for your comments! It was a pleasure to play a small role in this fine production. And thanks to Peter and Leon for inviting me in.

Janice
Cool tune Peter and Leon. Loved the lyric. Cool vibe to the song as well. Loved the vocal and lyrics. Dobro was excellent
Peter, Leon, Janice + Bud,

Sorry late for the party. Smooth song. Neat set of lyrics! This almost reads like haiku:
"Everything has a season
Why should love be any different
Don’t go looking for a reason
Nothing lasts forever"

Leon's vocals are easy to follow and Janice adds another creative layer. Peter, I like the folk slide feel guitar. It is different, but cool and works very well! Clear mix and listens well. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.
Peter, Leon, Janice and Bud.

This sounds brilliant. I love the folk-music vibe. It sits so comfortably with the lyrics and the melody. From writing to performance to production, this creations really shines brightly. You've all done an amazing job.

I really, really enjoyed it.

Peter, Leon & Janice,

Leon and Janice's vocals are in perfect harmony.
Kontakt acoustic guitar adds to the folk atmosphere.
Peter's guitar obbligato supports Leon and Janice's singing very well.
It's a song that makes everyone feel relieved.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
