Hi, Dan.

I like the song! smile

The intro didn't work for me. But that's probably just me - it was OK once, but repeated? And again at the interlude? Oh, no... wink

The song builds nicely. The harmonies are nice, but a some of intervals emphasized the synthy-ness of the vocals, like "I know he loves me" at 2:56. Then again, in a world of auto-tune, that's probably a feature and I'm just an old man shaking his fist at the clouds.

The "oohs" and "aahs" are really nice. Piano fills sound good, and the mix is excellent.

It feels a bit long, but not as long as it actually is, which is good.

Nice work, as usual.

Dan, beautiful song, and expertly arranged and mixed, as usual. That five minutes flew by! You really do a great job combining the various instrument sources into a cohesive, glassy mix. David's points on the intro/interlude are worth consideration.

Really like what you're doing using synths to build song ideas in the style you used to sing. Sounds to me like you've made a seamless transition, and each song sounds better than the last. Looking forward to many more!

David...thanks for your thoughts and comments...I always appreciate your technical insights and especially now that I'm working with the vocaloids...I took your advice and shortened the intro to one time around..it cut 16 seconds off and brought me under 5 minutes (that's rare!)...thanks for taking the time to give me some thoughtful comments...I appreciate it...Dan

Dan,

The melody really caught my attention here. Beautiful.
Nice work with "the voices".
The piano is another standout.

Another great song Dan, with a lot of truth in it. You sure are coming along with those voices. Personally, I like some of your country sounds more than this particular genre. I liked the guitar in the instrumental, and maybe (or maybe not) some power chords a little earlier would add some umph to the overall song, but that's just me. I really liked how you brought the voices back in during the instrumental. Keep those songs a-comin' man!

Dan

As I commented on FB, This is a beautiful song and message!
I still can't get used to not hearing your voice in the lead vocal spot!
At the start the intro had me thinking that you had ventured into Reggae!
The solo instrumental break sounds super! All in all, a great sounding track!

Thanks, TB

Great synth voices, you have mastered them!
As usual an outstanding message, loved the lyrics!
Great backing tracks!

You make inspiration such a beautiful sound, Dan. So good with those synth voices. Heartfelt lyrics and uplifting music. I really like how you build the sound as if it cannot be controlled. Well, not "as if" but "because."

That is a lovely engaging arrangement and the mix is excellent.

The synth vocals fit your lyric, melody and the overall vibe very well.
The ooh’s and aah’s are so smooth.

The band sounds like seasoned session guys!
Your instrumental performances are ace (loved the piano fills).

Enjoyed it!

Hi Dan.

This is an excellent creation and production.
I was captivated by your well-honed lyric writing prowess and your terrific use of Synth V voices.
The way your words flowed with rhythm and rhyme captured my imagination.
For example, the internal rhyme of "Jesus/decieve us" (verse 1) and "Jesus/leads us" (verse 2, in a parallel position to verse 1) caught my ears and made me smile.
That's sophisticated lyric writing.
In addition, both your melody and the chord sequence that supports it are stunning.
This is beautiful music smile

I really enjoyed listening.

Hi Dan, Natalie and Hayden,

I realy liked that intro / interlude!
It creaes a lovely excitement (and promise) of what comes next.
Although it took you 15 years to finish the song (...) it has a modern sound.
I like how it is sung by all of you.
Very good!
